Are you saying that there is spark at no 1 but not on the other plugs. Check your distributor rotor to see if its not broken at the tightening base. When this happens the engine will usually only fire on the one plug that it is pointing at

Remove the No1 HT lead, stick in a screw-driver and hold near a metal body part while the motor is running. If you see spark, then the spark plug is faulty. If there is no spark, then the HT lead may be faulty.

1986 350 engine changed timing chain won't start on #1 but starts and runs great if i set roder facing #6 dist cap is there two firing orders for this engine ?

THERE IS ONLY ONE FIRING ORDER FOR THIS IT HAS BEEN THE SAME SINCE 1960??? 18436572 WITH NO1 IF YOU ARE STANDING STRAIGHT IN FRONT OF THE ENGINE YOUR HEI DIST SHOULD HAVE 2 PRONGS STRAIGHT ACCROSS FACING YOU IF IT IS NOT YOU MUST PULL THE DIST, ROTATE THE ENGINE AROUND TO COMPRESSION STROKE, VERIFY THIS BY THE POINTER ON THE TIMING COVER SET IT TO 0 WITH THE PISTON IN NO1 CYLINDER UP IF NO 1 PISTON IS NOT UP FULLY EXTENDED IN THE SPARK PLUG HOLE YOU ARE NOT AT NO 1
IF THE PISTON IS FULLY EXTENDED AND YOU HEARD A AIR SOUND THEN YOU ARE RIGHT, PLACE THE DIST BACK IN TURN THE ROTOR 1 TO 2 NOTCHES BACK TO THE RIGHT AND HAVE SOME ONE CRANK THE ENGINE IN SPURTS, IT SHOULD DROP IN, THEN REPEAT THE PROCESS TO VERIFY YOU ARE ACTUALLY ON NO1 THEN BEGIN THE WIRING

How instaling distribuitor acura integra 92

bring engine round by turning bottom pulley ,now with rocker cover off for left bank (if a V engine) and watch for the inlet valve opening ,then turn engine till it closes ,now remove the spark plug for this cylinder and use a long thin screwdriver and lower in plug hole now turn engine a bit more till the piston is at the top ,now make sure both valves are closed ,then fit distributor so the arm is pointing at a contact point in the distributor cap that aligns up with this plug lead ,simple ,now if you dont know what one it is or where no1 is then make this no1 as the first cylinder on left bank is normally no1 then its 153624 is the firing order or 143625 i have no idea how many cylinders you have as i have never seen one of these cars but iam just assuming its a V6

Distrributor wires on wrong

The normal firing order is 1342 on a 4 cylinder engine

You need to remove a spark plug on the No1 cylinder and check for Top Dead Centre on the Compression Stroke (Put your thumb over the plug hole and you will feel the pressure) .

At that point the rotor arm will be lined up with the right lead for No1 cylinder

The rotor arm turns clockwise so No 2 lead is next and so on

Car will not start

If I am right, the firing order is,1-3-4-2. With the dissy cap removed, have someone turn the engine over so you can see which way the rotor arm goes. Set the engine to TDC and the rotor arm should point to the No1 cylinder at the start of the firing order. If it rotor points away from the No 1 cylinder then slacken the dissy housing and move the diddy until the rotor ppoints to the No1 cylinder. Now pHT lead from the No1 spark plug to the No 1 possition on the dissy cap. The next lead goes on the next available possition on the dissy cap in the way of the rotation of the rotor then to the No3 spark plug carry on the same with 2 and 4 and that should solve your problem unless you have a different firing order.
