Question about 1998 Jeep Wrangler

1 Answer

Someone ripped the crankshaft senser wire out of the senser. we didn't know what the wire went to, all we knew is that my 2000 jeep wrangler would not start. my friend touched the wire to the hot and has done something to the vehicle. i did replace the crankshaft senser but still am not getting any fire at all. i have checked the fuses and i have checked the relays. What should I do next?

Check with Autozone and discuss your problem. They know what they are talking about and have always come up with the right parts or belts for me. I used to be a mechanic in my youth and I never go anywhere else.........

Speedometer not working on my 1995 wrangler. I changed the speed sensor, did not solve the problem.

On my 95 jeep wrangler, the vehicle speed sensor is on the end of the transfer case. I replaced mine and it still didn\'t work. So I put new butt connectors on the wires and that was why my speedometer wasn\'t working ... so you need to be careful when crimping the wires without crimping the bells at the ends of the connectors.

2000 jeep wrangler 4.0l no power to fuel pump

Check your relays. Find where you've got power and where it stops... you'll find the problem. Good Luck. "It's always something simple."

Our brake lights keep going out, the Stop LPS Fuse keeps popping. My husband checked wires, nothing looked wrong. He replaced the brake lamp switch and fuse still popped. Now he's checking actual tail...

check to see if someone has installed a tow hitch on the rear, they would have spliced in the wiring in the rear of vehicle, thats where i find alot of corroded wire that were poorly taped.

I blew the gearbox /transfer case/tailshaft in my jeep 2000 model wrangler sport. I have replaced all of the above but I also ripped apart all the wiring underneath I need some sort of electrical manual so...

Most wires are color coded,,, and if they are still intact (just cut into) you should be able to put them back together by just matching the wires according to the colors. No manual should be necessary to accomplish this?

1999 jeep wrangler guages went crazy

Put a volt meter on the battery itself and take a reading when it is doing that. If charge rate is over 14v the alternator may be working but the output is not being cut down to "useful voltage" You may have a regulator problem.

Ignition system is out

check crankshaft sensor (left side of bellhousing underneath) DO not buy one first, test it with an ohmeter (specs in any manual) if out of range then change it. Also suspect will be ignition module (if you have one, it's next to the coil. After checking these out, if no results, check cam sensor Inside distributor. That's enough to confuse you for awhile.
Good luck
