Well it can be several things, but lets start with the basics. Look at the rim the tire mounts on, see if there are any bends in the rim like from hitting a pot hole. Then look at the tire itself to see if there are any bulges on the tire that protrude from the tire and don't look like the rest of the tire. If the tire at the correct air pressure? Are all the lug nuts in place and tight on your tire? After that you probably will have to take it to a tire place to see if the tire is out of balance, if it is its a cheap fix and they just need to add a wheel weight too the tire to put it back in balance again. From there then it make get expensive because it could be an issue with your front end you can take it somewhere to have it checked and they will advise you from there.

I hope this helps you out.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. You really need to be careful driving. You could have a bent rim or it may be loose. Your axle or boot may be damaged as well. If it is shaking bad and you can't go over 30-40, it may be your hub assembly. If that breaks, your in trouble. I would get it looked at asap. It could also be a tie rod end. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for using FixYa and have a good day.

My dodge stratus is wobbling when i drive slow

Hello,

There are three things that will cause this.

#1 bubble in a tire - check all tires and make sure that there are no bubbles. Also check that the tires are level all the way across, all the way around.

#2 Wheel bearings. If you can determine which area (front left, front right, back left, or back right) is the most affected, check that tire by jacking up each tire and grab the tire from each side. Wiggle it back and forth. Do this from top to bottom as well - if the tire (wheel) feels solid, you're good. If there is any play at all, you may need to have the wheel bearings replaced.

#3 - the front end alignment may need to be done - a shop can inspect the car and determine this, as well as determine the condition of your struts.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Need to get my battery charged in 2004 dodge stratus do not know how to get to the battery . I assume i need a gharge because the car ius completely dead

Hi Ellen. The battery on your stratus is located in the left (driver side) fender in front of the wheel. There are battery terminals under the hood though, which you can use to jump start or charge the battery from. If the battery needs to be replaced, the easiest way would be to remove the left front wheel and then an access panel in front of the wheel. The wheel does not need to be removed, according to the manual, but it does make things easier. This is a 30 minute procedure to remove the battery. All this info and more is available in the cars owners manual. If you don't have the manual, you can download it for free at this site: there is a diagram of the under hood terminals.

Side to side wheel play

It could be an indication of a bad wheel bearing assembly. Did you check the lug nuts to be sure they are tight? It could also be the tie rod assembly. I would take off the wheel and try to move the just the hub assembly. Do you hear any screeching/squealing noises? Any popping while you are driving? Are your tires wearing? All these are classic signs of a bad wheel bearing. Any decent tire/auto shop can put your car on a lift and check the wheel bearings.

Cant find the battery

Check the front of the wheel well. On a Plymouth Breeze/Dodge Stratus it's the driver side Wheel well but might be different for a Viper

2007 dodge stratus battery

If you haven't already located the battery, it is in the fenderwell, in front of the drivers side front wheel. There are a few retainers on a plastic shield in that area, remove those. Then disconnect the negative (black) cable first, and then the positive. You will also notice that there is a hold down bracket for the battery. Remove the bracket and the battery will slide out.

NOTE: It is easiest to remove the battery with the left front wheel off. Make sure to have the car on jack stands before you remove the wheel.
