You can buy a code scanner that reads out fault codes and resets the oil change, inspection, and engine fault lights. There are several brands, but the Peake is the most popular among BMW owners.
On a '98, you can reset the oil light by shorting between a couple of the pins on the computer connector. It is advisable to make a jumper that includes a resistor. If you go to a forum like DTM power or Pelican or BimmerForums or UnitedBimmerCommunity and search, you will find the instructions. I would rather not tell you how because I would feel guilty if you made a mistake and flame-broiled some very expensive electronics on your car.

I have a 1998 M3 and after changing the battery I cannot figure out the reset code for my radio, can you help?

If you did not get a card with the owner's manual, you will have to pull the radio part way out and read the serial number. Then go to the dealer and have a service writer punch the serial into his computer and he can tell you the code. If the dealer wants $$ to do this, go to another dealer.
The radio is held in by two 5-sided cup head screws. You might be able to jamb some other tool in there and loosen them if they are not too tight. If the radio has never been removed, they are tight and you will need to buy the proper tool on line. I got mine from a fellow who makes them at home, Z3Richard@aol.com, but the specialty tool places sell them as well.

I would like to get a website that may walk me through a do it yourself oil change. I especially need to know how to reset the oil light.

BavAuto.com or Pelican Parts.com - Both offer great prices on BMW parts and BOTH have tech tips on about anything you want to do to it.

Airbag light is on the dash board is on and i need to know what to do about it to make it go off

You need to reset it: Two choices dealer or with an airbag reset toll (e.g. Peake Research R5/SRS approximately $130). If it keeps coming back on, a common fault is one of the front seat belt buckle connections. Here is the internet address. http://www.peakeresearch.com/

I had my 2003 BMW M3 in for it's annual oil change and they didn't reset my oil change maintanence light. It is still showing 3700 miles before next oil change and I just got it done.

1. Key in 0 or off position.

2. Press and hold odometer button and turn key to 1 or acc. position... like you're turning the car on, but don't crank the engine.

3. Keep button pressed until any of the following words appear in display: "oil service" or "inspection", with "reset" or "re". For vehicles with "high cluster", the fuel amount (in litres) remaining until next service is displayed (i.e. 3224).

4. Press and hold button again until "reset" or "re" flash.

5. While display is flashing, press button briefly to reset service interval indicator. After display has shown new interval, the following will appear in display for approx. 2 seconds:"END SIA"
