Have K341s engine on a welder and crank case flooded with fuel. what should I look for?

It is likely that this engine has a gravity feed fuel system such as the lawn tractor in the photo. The problem is if the needle valve sticks open, float fails to push the needle into the seat fuel will flow until the tank empties. The fuel floods the engine and leaks by the valve stem and cylinder rings filling the crank case with fuel.

What a mess and always a concern when fuel leaks. The preventative is to make sure the fuel shut off valve is closed when engine is not being used. Usually running the engine with the shut off valve will empty the carburetor of gas a good procedure to prevent the carburetor from fouling.

You must drain the oil completly and replace before running the machine.

Likely with the engine vibration the needle will operate normally. Removing the bowl and checking for contamination is recommended.

Adding a new filter and confirming the fuel shut off is working is also recommended.

On my 825i the fuel pump keeps running and won't shut off and it cause the engine to start flooding. How can I fix this

Easy way is to put a kill switch in line with the wire that feeds it power. Turn off when key is removed and turn on when you want to go anywhere.

1999 Silverado V-6 4.3L I changed the camshaft sensor the fuel pump the ignition control module today. After that has rough start b/n 10-30 mph but smooths out but engine light flashes from 25 mph on

If your original problem was low fuel pressure recheck pressure and check for flooding of gas in the intake. These models have a bad problem with the plastic tubing feeding the fuel injectors and you might be looking at replacing the injector assembly. If ok check for sticking egr valve or intake leak.

What causes 2005 pontiac vibe to flood gas?

Hi, As your vehicle is a late model (2005) it should have electronic fuel injection aspiration and as such flooding is very unusual, but can occur if an injector is leaking. If fuel is visible on top of the engine DO NOT TRY TO START! but instead determine where the leakage is, from. The most likely places are the flexible fuel lines both the feed and return fuel lines to and from the fuel rail. If the leakage is from around the injectors, inspect the 'o' ring seals fitted to each injector top and bottom (nozzle) side. If they have become hardened, cracked or broken, replace all. Regards John.

Car seems to be flooding or starving of fuel. iv replaced the machanical fuel pump and fuel filter. When i open the throttle it splutters but if i feed it very slowly it runs fine

It sounds like it could be time for a carb rebuild. The float could be sticking, it sounds like it is starving for fuel. Be sure to check all your vacuum lines too. This is more for fuel injected engines but I would try Techron fuel treatment available at most parts stores. I usually don't believe in any of these products but have actually had good luck with Techron. You would probably need the smaller of the two sizes available. It's worth a try.

The car acts like it is flooding, while driving it.It will sputter along then it will cough and then runs fine for awhile.I have put in several cans of injector cleaner, not alot of help.I popped out the...

It sounds like the fuel pressure regulator is not working.Too much fuel pressure at low speeds, and at idle, not enougfh fuel return into the tank. This may flood the intake ports and too much injector cleaner may destroy the in line fuel filter it may not be filtering the fuel, just bypassing the filtering ,like no filter at all.

2002 firebird ran out of gas, put in 2 gallons, won't start. Turns over and fires a little.

Takes a long while to get from tank to engine, and then it can flood out easily. Next time don't run out!

Fuel pump two lines

I had a 85' Just like yours. You cannot Plug the Return line or it will Overfill the Bowl and result in Overignition and Flooding out. That return line catches all of the Fuel that the TBI Does not Burn and Returns it to the Fuel tank for Reuse. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
