Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. Depending on what year the vehicle is, you may be able to get a key. You can call the dealership and make sure you have all of your vehicle information. They only go back 10-12 years. If it is an older model, you can try calling a locksmith to see what they can do. If nothing worked out, you will have to change the ignition module and lock cylinder. You are probably looking at 300-500 dollars just for the parts. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for using FixYa and have a good day.

Replacement key

If your key has a plus sign symbol ( + ) on both sides of it, then it must have an electronic chip and it needs to be programmed. The key looks just like any other car key, except for the plus symbol that is on it.

I lost the keys to an Acura rl 2000 I bought a new original switch with a red and a black key I already istalled but the car won't start

The keys need to be programmed to the immobilizer. Replacing the switch was unnecessary. Keys can be made to the existing locks.

I had a new key made and it turns on the car but wont start it....if this is a computer issue is there anyway to bypass it? 1999 dodge intrepid es

Easy way to tell, look at your originally keys. When they first started using key chips as a security feature the keys with black covers where normal keys but if your original key had a gray rubber type cover it has a security chip in it. That means the only place to get a spare key made is the dealer because they have to order the key using your VIN. The only way to bypass this is to replace the ignition switch and the ECM. The ECM will cost $1600 + on it's own.

Hello, how do I access the air filter to change it? I assume it is under the large cover on top of the engine an a 2.0 Passat 2008.

Look for big black rubber intake hose. It originates from front of vehicle, that is where air enters it. Follow hose to where it meets top of engine. It is either right in front,by grill or on top by engine. It depends on how much room it has under hood in engine compartment.

96 pathfinder clutch pedal has lost pressure,

usually when this happen you lost fluid pressure look for a fluid leak at the clutch master cylinder under the hood ,it should be by the brake master ,it has a small plastic tank on top with a black rubber cap or underneath on the transmission there is the clutch slave cylinder it will have a small 2 inch rod that pushes the clutch fork ,look for the rubber boot on it ,see if there is fluid coming out of it ,also follow the clutch fluid lines maybe somthing has damaged one and its leaking !
