What wires under steering wheel jump start a ford escort

Be very careful as ignitions do have anti-theft built in. It must match key on most 2000 and on Ford vehicles. Hot wiring only happens in Hollywood.

On old model simple ignition cylinder, if you lost the key, get a new cylinder from auto parts and replace. Problem solved.

This can be caused by bad plug wires, the heavy load of top gear causes the misfire.

I need a wiring diagram for a 1989 Ford Escort Cabriolet as the fuses for the main beam keep blowing, also i have no reversing lights

You will have to ask a repair shop with a data base,
such as ALLDATA,Motor,Mitchell,etc to print
what you need for ,say free or a couple dollars

You just don't find or get anything free on the internet
That isn't saying someone won't find something &
try to be helpful, but I wouldn't wait & expect that.

There a two forms of vehicle info

The original factory manuals I buy, for all
my vehicles at several hundred dollars each

Then there is a local repair shop ALLDATA
version ,that covers 40 years of everything
for all vehicles. They pay big bucks each year
for that

I have a 2001Chevy S-10. We don't drive it a lot, it only has 61K miles on it. The last few years we started having "hesitation" problems. You'll be driving along just fine, stop at a light or...

yeah, if you have to tell the shop how to repair the vehicle i would find a better reputable shop. When is the last time you did a tune up? Plugs, fuel filter, air filter, wires. Clean sensors, check intake gasket for vacuum leaks, check vacuum lines for cracks, leaks.

2000 Ford Windstar 3.8L error P0401 then P0404

if the check engine light is blinking, you have a misfire(spark plugs, plug wires or coil pack.inspect the plug wires for damage. The rear bank plug wires (at the fire wall) get alot of heat and the boots will crack, causing a misfire. You might want to have your local shop check it for you,to see if there is an open circuit or shorting in one or more of the plug wires.if it has been awhile since a tune-up,you might want to do that first, and inspect the plug wire boots also and replace them if needed.

Vehicle sputters, bucks, occasionally dies out, rich exhaust fume

The MAF sensor is the likely problem. Ca be clraned w/crc electrical cleaner only. Do not touch , rub,or use compressed air to clean or dry. It's located in the intake duct in one of the metal sections. The plug and wires will give it away. Good Luck-Ned-

1998 Ford Escort stalls sporatically after putting it in gearm hot or cold engine.

You need to clean the throttle valve and the idle speed control valve, they get sludged up and cause this issue. Get a can of throttle valve cleaner from your local parts store, pull off the rubber flex air intake hose and start engine, have someone hold engine at high idle while you spray the contents of the can into the intake, when the can is about 1/2 empty let the engine stall, disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and then restart, quickly push the throttle wide open a few times to blow out any loose sludge, and that should cure your stall.
