Hi, a no-spark condition is checked by checking the distributor for power at the connector on the side of the cap. If there is power, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the cap. Check the rotor and the cap for excessive wear. Check the coil tower for excessive wear. Remove the top plastic cap on the distributor cap. Use an ohmmeter and check the coil positive terminal to the metal case of the coil. The reading should be infinity. Check the coil tower and the negative terminal. The reading should be 900 ohms. Check the positive terminal to the negative terminal. The reading should be around 700 ohms. If any of these tests show drastically different readings, the coil is bad. If the coil is good, the cap and rotor are not cracked or worn significantly and there is no spark at any wire, replace the ignition module.

Firing order for 1989 nisson pickup


Four cylinder engine, firing order is 1-3-4-2. Spark plug wires (4 for intake side, 4 for exhaust side), beginning with 1I (at very front of distributor): 1I - 2E - 3I - 1E - 4I - 3E - 2I - 4E. Distributor rotates counter clockwise.
Six cylinder engine, firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6, cylinders 1, 3 and 5 on right side of engine, cylinders 2, 4 and 6 on left side of engine. Distributor rotates counter clockwise.

Hello i have a 1993 Mercedes Benz 400sel. i have changed the distributor caps, rotors, and spark plugs/wires. it is only running on 4 cylinders right, now and i don't know why. There is no spark on all 4...

I'd believe that the problem could be a bent distributor cam shaft (The center shaft inside the distributor.
Have it checked and if I've been a clever boy you can give me a rating

Firing Order Diagram for 1991 honda accord ex


When standing on the passenger side looking at the distributor you will see a sideways square ( shape of spark plugs counterclockwise a little ) firing order is this 1 is top left, 2 is top right, 3 is bottom left, 4 is botton right, Now from the same side distributor closest too you, firing order is 4321 going towards drivers side match em up and done.

Change plugs and wire and engine will not acclerate. This is a built 350 short block chevy with pro charger.


350 Chevy engine in what? 1990 Corvette? Who built it, did you?

Sounds as though you have plug wires wrong.
Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

Distributor Ignition System:
Distributor rotates Clockwise. (Rotor)
Find Number 1 tower on distributor cap, go Clockwise with Firing Order.

Distributorless Ignition System:
VIEWING the engine from the Front of the car.

Spark plug wire connections along the back, starting from Left side going to Right side;
2-3-7-4

Spark plug wire connection towards the Front of the engine;
6-1-5-8

(To guess I would say you have 5 and 7 wires switched)

Left side cylinder order is 1-3-5-7, going from front to back.
Drivers side is Left side.
Right side cylinder order is 2-4-6-8, going from front to back.

I replaced my spark plug wires on my 1996 chevy truck. may have crossed one,need a diagram from the spark plugs to the distributer cap.


Since you didn't state whether it is a V6 or V8, I'll give you both.

V6 -4.3Liter
Firing Order is 1-6-5-4-3-2
Distributor rotor turns Clockwise
Number 1 spark plug tower on distributor cap, faces the front of the engine.

->Drivers side, spark plug order in engine, starting from the Front going back:
1-3-5
->Passenger side, spark plug order in engine,
starting from the Front going back:
2-4-6

If it's Electronic, the distributor cap has a Left side, (Drivers side), and a Right side, (Passenger side)
Starting from the Front, going back on the Left side,
3-1-5
Starting from the Front going back on the Right side,
2-4-6

V8-5.0, 5.7, and 7.4Liter
Firing Order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
Distributor rotor turns Clockwise
Number 1 spark plug tower on distributor cap,
faces Front, towards the Drivers side.

Electronic distributor cap has two sides. Drivers, (Left), side and Passenger, (Right), side.
Starting from Front going back on Drivers side,
1-7-3-5
Starting from Front going back on Passenger side,
8-2-4-6

Spark plug order in engine, starting from Front going back, Drivers side:
1-3-5-7
Spark plug order in engine, starting from Front going back, Passenger side:

What is the firing order for the 1994 ford taurus 3.8 engine, have just replaced cap and rotor, need order, thought I marked them but engine will not start. Perhaps I was wrong in the order.


Not trying to insult your intelligence, I'm going to get pretty basic here,

Looking at the Front of the engine, the spark plug order is 1, 2, 3, and 4. Front to back.

Looking at the distributor, it has two mounting screws for the distributor cap. One is close to the engine, the other screw is on the other side.

Looking at the distributor cap screw, on the Far side away from the engine, Number 1 spark plug is on the tower to the Left of it.

To the right of this distributor cap screw, is Number 2 spark plug tower.
The rotor turns clockwise.

Again, looking at the distributor from a top view, there is a distributor cap screw at the top, (Close to engine), and a distributor cap screw at the bottom.

Drawing an imaginary line from the top screw to the bottom screw, Number 1 spark plug wire goes to the Left, of the bottom mounting screw.

Firing Order is 1-3-4-2
The rotor turns Clockwise, (To the right)

Firing Order and Reinstalling Plug Wires:
B230F/T or B234 Four Cylinder: Firing order 1-3-4-2.
  • Rear distributor: Left-to-right terminals are 4-3-1-2
  • Side distributor: Front terminal is 1, thence clockwise around to 3-4-2
  • Plugs: Front-of-engine-to-back: 1-2-3-4

you are right with passenger side but drivers side from front of car is 1,3,5,7 looking frm front of car in the 6:30 position(slightly left of center) is cyl.1 going counter clockwise the distributor order is 2,7,5,6,3,4,8
