You need to remove the door panel and to put the window back on track.

Here the removal procedure for the door panel:

  1. Remove manual window regulator handle, if present.
  2. Remove the power door lock switch, if present.
  3. Remove upper trim panel screw.
  4. Remove the upper trim panel.
  5. Remove door trim panel screws (see 3 in pic).
  6. If model is sedan, remove the screws (1) by the pull handle.
  7. If coupe, remove the screw from armrest.
  8. Disengage door trim panel retainers starting from the bottom.(this is normally done with specialtool J38778)
  9. Lift the door trim panel and disengage the inner belt from the door flange.
  10. Remove trim panel from door.
  11. Disconnect built in stereo speaker electrical connector.

  5. Use a 3?16 in.drill bit to drill out the regulator attaching rivets.

On a Cavalier 1991 driver side front window. Window will not stay on track. Window falls forward while lowering it. Something seem missing that should hold the window straight while raising and lowering...

The glass for your window sits on a metal bar on the window regulator assembly. The bar is raised by scissor like lifts run by a motor. If it falls forward the rear portion may have come off from the bar and the guides at the rear may have kept it from lower along with the side that is still attached. You will have to open the door panel to gain access to it. Inspect also the guide for dirt or it may need replacing, it could have caused the part of the window to come of.

Below is a sample of what the assembly would look like:

1991 oldsmobile cutlass supreme drivers side window keeps coming out of track, how do I fix

generally the door panel has to come off. With the panel removed you can see the tracks. There is an adjustment for each track, and you can observe the action of the window in the track as you operate the window. slacken both track adjustment bolts if fitted, operate the window untill fully up, tighten each adj bolt and operate the window through the cycle. Make any further adjustments as needed. When correct install the door panel, and recheck the operation of the window.

Good luck.

there a screws holding the arm rest and on under the inside door handle. After that go around the perimeter of the panel and pull. There are numerous plastic press-bolts around the sides and bottom of the panel. The top lifts up off the door. Turn it around and take off the window connectors and lock connector. The motor is towards the bottom inside the door structure. Take the window out first. Be careful that you don't get pinched in teh mechanism. The motor is connected to the track system. It all should weasle out of the door then replace the motor.

Driver's side turn signals do not flash. Back up lights not on.

Open drivers door, on side of dashboard there is a panel door, the fuses are behind that, and there should be one in the engine compartment, a black box.

Window fell off the runner in the door

The door panel has screws on the bottom of the door panel. If there is carpet on the base of the door panel, the holes are hidden within the carpet.

Also, you have to remove the arm rest, typically it has 2 screws holding it to door and plastic push-in door panel clips on the sides. You can use a screw driver to help pop them out.

The door panel, when loose from door, lift up and off. Take your time so you dont break any tabs on the back side.

If the window is falling off the track, there is a small plastic tab that is mounted to glass or track; it slides in the window channel on front and rear tracks.

You can get this part at your local auto parts house, in HELP section.
