Question about 2008 Ford Ranger

1 Answer

2008 Ford Ranger heater blows hot air regardless of thermostat position. Is this a fuse problem? Where is the fuse for that? I found the fuse panel...passenger side right foot. I need to know if this is a fuse problem or if I need to go get the thing fixed.

Sorry i don't see the problem, You say your heater motor is blowing hot air, Do you mean while the a/c is on? If so i would say your you may need your a/c charged up. But no the thermostate does not have a fuse, It is eather open or closed. Good luck .

I'll let you know Friday. I'm taking it to the dealer. It's getting too warm here to have that happening. On the phone he said 'it's not under warranty, but something is broken' but he refused to say 'what' other than 'bring it in and we'll take a look at it!' And he said 'It isn't a fuse..'

Just got the truck back from the dealer, mine was covered under my extended warranty. It was the blender motor. Behind the passenger airbag. The other thing it could be is the rheostat its self. I was told it is more common on the F150's. The motor costs $110 here in Canada. And took 1.1 hrs to install and 1 hr to troubleshoot. Looks like Ford got a crappy set of parts for these trucks.

98 ford ranger no heat have changed thermostat water pump heater control valve

Maybe the heater core is plugged or you haven't bled it properly?
If the heater hose returning from the core to the water pump is NOT hot, while the hose going to the heater core from the thermostat area IS hot, then the heater core is plugged probably.
You need to remove the heater hose while cool, from the thermostat area and remove the hose from the water pump area (that's the outlet of the flow thru heater core) AND THEN take a garden hose with p-is-tol grip type sprayer, and blow water back thru the outlet hose out the inlet hose. This will blow any bad plugging material out the way it got in.
Don't apply too much pressure if it is plugged bad. The heater core isn't made to stand 50lbs. water pressure. don-ohio (:^)

2008 Ford Ranger heater blows cold air regardless of thermostat position.

Several things can cause a no heat condition. Try this - After the engine is warmed up turn on the heater and place you hand on the two heater hoses (CAUTION THEY WILL BE HOT)- if one is hotter than the other you may have a clogged heater core. The problem could also be as simple as the heat door not opening under the dash.

05 ford ranger 3.0......if I put my thermostat on cold...the vent blows hot air..on max ac..its cold air..makes no sense right....help

Cold air like, really cold or just cool. Sounds like your hot/cold blend door motor has perhaps failed with the blend door in the semi hot position. Blend door motor failure is very common on the Ford truck HVAC systems. Is is located behind the glovebox on top of the HVAC housing assembly.

My A/C only blows cold in MAX position. All other positions, both A/C and heater, blow full hot. I also can not control temp via thermostat. Anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.

Check your heater control door and actuator. make sure they are operating properly. The doors are known to break, and the actuators can go bad. The a/c works on max because there is a heater control valve that shuts the coolant flow into the heater core.
