Reset for what? You have a check engine light on?

often times little glitches like that can b fixed by reseting the computer on most make and models forign or domestic USUALY simpley disconecting ground wire from battery and then depress brake pedel or turn ignition to on position for 3-5 seconds .that discharges capisitors in the computer wich hold voltage to retain memory in computor...take away the computors memory and wen you give it back power it boots up in default mode restoreing everything back to normal.includeing the vehicle security system.the problem your haveing usualy follows a aftermarket stereo installition by a unqualified individual.

If the light is on it means you have a current fault and will need a repair if it was a temporary fault the light would go off and the fault would be stored in the computor, It needs plugging in to OBD computor most likely you have a faulty seat belt clip

Turn key to ON, not run just ON, so all the dash lights are on, press the O botton twice quickly, like twice in one sec. Service reset will come on with the little wrench symbol, immediately turn key to the off position, press the zero button and hold it in while turning the key to the on position again, hold the button till it beeps, release button and turn key to off position.

While your in the car anyway do the ecu reset and set the learned driver values back to the factory settings,like an instant tune up in two minutes time... (FSS = Flexible Service System)

The connector, to plug in a scanner, to read the computer is located just under the dashboard edge on the right side of the steering column. I think the computer module is the silver metal box located under the dash attached to the firewall just to the left of the steering column.

Disconnect negative battery post for 30 seconds & reconnect. This action will reset the car's computor & remove the light.

unhook the battery for about ten minutes... hook it back up... if the light still comes on.... go to your local autozone and have them scan it for the code(s) (free). incidentally if the light comes back on .... they didn't likely fix your problem. also if that stereo is of the anti-theft variety... make sure you know the code and how to enter it.

the keyless entry module is on the drivers side of the truck up under the dash directly above the emergency brake. The tag should have a 5 digit number in bold, that is your door code.
