The brake pressure in the lines when applying the brakes will leak if you try to block the line off.you can tell what line it is by having someone press on the brakes as you look at the line itself to see the which line the brake fluid is coming out.driving around with the brakes not working as intended can cost you more if you have and accident or hit someone, get them fixed properly, now or don`t drive it.

I have a 2007 Chevy Equinox that has a gas smell noticeable once it is driven. No leak evidence and it has been suggested I check the "gas filler tube vents". Is this a possibility?

Also check your fuel pressure regulator, the fuel rail to fuel line connection end the injectors themselves for signs of leaking. The fuel pressure regulator has a vacuum line connected to the top of it. Make sure this is secure. If the fuel pressure regulator has failed it will allow fuel to enter the vacuum line and this will cause the smell of fuel under the hood. Also make sure that the emission control pipe from the fuel vapour canister has not become disconnected from the intake plenum.

Possible cause:
  • Incorrect fuel tank vacuum relief valve
  • Incorrect fuel filler cap used

  • Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap.
  • Leak is in line between intake manifold and EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve.
  • Foreign matter caught in EVAP canister vent control valve.
  • EVAP canister or fuel tank leaks
  • EVAP purge line (pipe and rubber tube) leaks
  • EVAP purge line rubber tube bent
  • Blocked or bent rubber tube to EVAP control system pressure sensor
  • Loose or disconnected rubber tube
  • EVAP canister vent control valve and the circuit
  • EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve
  • EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve and the circuit
  • Absolute pressure sensor
  • Fuel tank temperature sensor
  • O-ring of EVAP canister vent control valve is missing or damaged
  • Water separator
  • EVAP canister is saturated with water
  • EVAP control system pressure sensor
  • Refueling control valve

remove the screws at the top of the filler neck where it attaches under the gas door and then loosen the clamp that holds the filler tube to the tank, and then reverse the instructions to install the new filler tube.

1999 CAVALIER WON'T TAKE GAS INTO TANK

After researching this for a lot of vehicles is this:

A ventilation line or the filler hose/neck/tube has possible damage. The only way to know is to drop the tank and inspect the lines going to and from the gas tank to the filler neck where you put the fuel pump nozzle in. If the neck has not been installed correctly, i.e., is twisted or dented/bent, this will cause the problem you are having.

If you can drop the tank and inspect these items, let us know what you find.

Replace leaking fuel tank

Remove the filler tube. Remove the rubber fuel line and plug. Remove the attaching bolts for the tank. Place a jack under the tank with a block of wood and slowly lower the tank down. Don't forget to unplug the wiring harness too. The possibility is high that the seam is leaking. A few aftermarket companies offer the tank. Do some shopping though, prices are different with the different companies.
