With the key on press the odometer reset button until the oil life message is displayed. Press and hold the rest button for about ten seconds. The oil life message will begin to blink. Release the rest button and then press and hold it in for another 10 seconds. The oil life should reset to 100%

When Jiffy Lube changed the oil in my 2009 Ford Expedition, they did not reset the "Change Oil" message in the instrument panel. Since I set out on a trip immediately after the service, I can't...

You can leave it,it is a gadget, not tied to any system

You should have an owners manual (still) on a 2009

Never go the Jiffy Lube

Read all the damage and horror stories ,on quick change
places.

There are instructions in the owners manual. These are for when you get the final "Oil Chanmge Required" message:

(approximately 7,500 miles [12,000 km] or six months) perform the
following:
1. Press and hold the RESET
control for two seconds and release.
Oil life is set to 100% and “OIL LIFE
XXX% HOLD RESET IF NEW OIL”
is displayed.
2. Press and hold the RESET
control for three seconds and
release. Oil life is set to 100% and
“OIL LIFE START VALUE SET TO

I just had an oil change oil life % still reads the same

It has to be manually reset, consult your owners manual, it will tell you how to do it. Alot of oil change places dont pay attention to your indicator.

Noticed the transmission fluid on my 2009 crv has an odor. I wouldnt say it is a burnt smell necessarily, well, maybe a slight tad. But fluid level and color appears to be good. Is it normal for there...

No, mostly it is a not unpleasant smell. Your transmission may be getting hot due to the work you do. I would advise you to change the oil and filter and fit an after market cooler into the oil cooling circuit.

Honda-crv 2008, When to change the oil.

Honda say thats not true and to wait until the car tells you when to change it. I have a 2008 CRV and you should and can wait till the oil say 15%! We took ours in after a long road trip for our first oil change. We had over 5K and the oil said 65%. The guy said that we did not need to bring it in. We still had change it while it was their but the car goes around 8-9 K on a oil change. A little wrench will come on and the oil life % will come on when it reach15% and will come on every time you start the car till you get it changed.

What is the recommended maintenance sahedule for a 2009 Honda CRV? Do you wait for the wrench light to come on or should it go by miles driven?? Thanks

Its pretty simple. Watch your oil life on your car. When it drops to 15% it is time to make an appointment with your dealer. The oil life calculates how long the oil will do its job properly based on how you drive. There is no "recommended maintenance schedule" on new honda's.

The car actually tells the dealer what needs to be done in the form of computer codes A and B and numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. When you bring it in, they will pull up any upcoming service codes and tell you what needs to be done. So just follow the oil life and try to avoid letting it go to 0%.

Good luck
