Question about 1997 Buick.5 Regal

1 Answer

Our Regal's a/c fan was stuck turned on, even w/ the ignition turned off. Draining the battery to dead. My wife took it to a Buick dealer who's only solution at that time was to pull the fuse out. So now without any a/c, I believe we now have a bigger problem that the radiator fans are not working causing the engine to run hot. Do you know an easy fix for the radiator fans?

The radiator fans use a fuse, relay, temperature sensor which the computer controls to turn on the fans at the specified temperature.you don`t say if this problem occurred when the blower motor fan fuse was removed.it is not uncommon for the rad cooling fans to seize and not work, the blower motor uses an electronic resistor block on the air box under the hood with i think about 6 wires in the plug and is about 3.5"long and 1"wide.held by 2 bolts(screws).this is feed power all the time and when the control switch is turned for different fan speeds the switch grounds the circuit.at times the resistor shorts causing the fan to run continually.i think you need a new resistor to fix this problem.

Sometimes after I put my 2000 Buick Regal LS in Park and turn off the engine the ignition switch not the key gets stuck in the on and acc position. What causes this to happen?

Replace ignition switch (the tumbler portion) seems like its hanging up, and you shouldn't be able to remove the keys unless the switch is off.The park safety switch possibly. This switch tells the vehicle its in Park. Hope this helps.

2000 Buick regal- My key is stuck in the ignition and will not come out and it has no power, I am unable to even move it oiut of the garage. Help!

I suspect your battery is dead. The key won't come out unless the car is in park also.. and might even require power from the battery to get the key out.. I would start with a jump to the battery and see if your key issue is solved.

Car battery completely dead - Caused the Key to be stuck

Yes. It has to have power to the ignition switch to be able to get the key out. Replace the batttery.

My wife's 1995 Buick Regal has no power

Sounds like a dead cell/shorted battery. 3 years is a little soon but with the fact that you recently replaced the alternator, I would suspect that your battery is done! Even a weak battery will let you jump one, bad cables usually will let you jump one, but a shorted/bad celll in a battery will prevent them from taking a jump. good luck

2000 Buick Regal won't start. Back window

If you turn your key forward (And make sure the fuel pump kicks on) Cross the starter terminals with a screwdriver. If the car starts like this you have a bad ignition. You can replace the cylinder or the whole column.
