Thank you but it isn't the bulb that I need to replace, its the whole turn signal lens.

It is the actual turn signal LENS that i want to replace, not the bulb.

Hi, first remove the headlight by pulling up the 2 black locking plates/clips. Twist out the sockets, but do not touch the bulbs with your hands. Set the headlight aside. There are 3 attach points for the signal lens. Pull inward on the outer tab to release it, pull up on the inner tab to release that one. Then squeeze the prongs in the middle to release the whole body of the lens. Twist out the light socket, and the lens is now free. To reinstall, slip the prongs into their hole and also the guide tabs in the middle and simply push the lens in until all of the tabs click into place. Replace the headlight, making sure the locking plates engage the knob grooves on the headlight lens properly and fully. You can watch a video of the installation here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1Eyr_UVktA

Hi,

At the top of the headlight there will be two horizontal bars that are either chrome or black. The normal position for this bar is clipped into a bracket on the radiator support. To change the light bulb, pull the bar out of the clip toward the front of the vehicle. Sometimes prying with a screw driver is helpful. After removing the bar from the clip pull straight up while rotating the bar from side to side. After removing the bars the headlamp will be able to be removed from the vehicle and provide access to the turn signal bulb. Re-install in reverse order of removal.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

2001 blazer possible electrical issue

Start with a new brake light switch that is located along the brake pedal. It was a good call to relace the multifuction switch the light do go through that switch. Now to the door lock in order to turn on the radio. you have to hold it down when you are pressing the switch down and the radio turn so some one borrowed power to that circuit and that is our clue. This is all related. You may still have a aftermarket alarm that is still attach inspect and remove it if is installed.Look under the dash at the steering column

Can you take the left front signal cover off on a 1997 chevy blazer to change the signal bulb

No. Unfortunately you have to remove the whole headlight assembly. There are two long screws holding it in. You access them from under the hood. Once they are removed you will be able to get the headlight assembly out and be able to get to the turn signal bulb.

I have a 1997 chevy blazer the hazards work fine but the turn signal is not working I checked the fuse in the fuse panel. what else could it be

Replace the Turn Signal Flasher Relay. It has 2 relays. One for the Hazard lights and one for the Turn Signals. The Turn Signal Flasher Relay is located Front seating area, driver side, passenger side of steering column, under dash, mounted near cigarette lighter. Optional mounting location is under dash, on driver side of steering column. (Curtorsey Auto Zone)

Check your wires, the smoke could mean an electrical fire.

Turning signals not working

The way the system works is:
The fuse supplies 12 volts to the flasher unit then leaves the flasher and goes to the turn-signal switch in the steering column.
When you set the turn-signal switch to turn right or left, the switch sends that 12 volts to the front and rear bulbs. The voltage goes through the bulb, lighting the bulb and goes to ground.
If any of these components are not good than the lights will not work.
Check the fuse and make sure it is good, the fuse will be located under the hood at the fuse center.
Let me know if you have a test light and we can proceed from there.
Regards,
