Hi,

This code sets when there is a problem in the exhaust valve circuit of the suspension compressor pump. Start by checking the RTD fuse in the underhood fuse panel. If this fuse is good, the problem in the exhaust valve. This will require replacing the compressor assembly.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Passenger side on 2003 ford expedition keep dropping no air leaks

On that system you have 3 ride height sensors. 2 front 1 rear. Disconnect the linkage arm and try to move sensor arm. Should move with little resistance but not loose. If bound up replace, also check 2 remaining sensors. Behind the passenger headlight is your compressor and relay. You can jump the 2 fat wires together at the relay to activate the compressor. The relay has 4 wires 2 fat 2 skinny. They sell a conversion kit to elinmate air ride and have coil struts and shocks. I normally recommend the conversion so the problem doesn't happen again. Nice system till it goes wrong

There has been a service bulletin for that type of concern. Here is what it states.

Correction

DO NOT REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR.

Based on technician feedback, engineering has determined that the customer's concern can be corrected by recalibrating the air spring sensor. Refer to the Trim Height Uneven or Low diagnostics and Air Spring Sensor Calibration procedure found in SI.

2004 Lincoln nave, rear wheels jacked up high, front wheels normal, rides real rough??? any thoughts???? Thanks,

Replace the air suspension with conventional shock/strut
conversions. The Air Ride System is not worth investing
time and money ,after the vehicle is 5 years old.
Too expensive to maintain ,and too difficult to diagnose

Next time buy the Ford version of the vehicle

04 lincoln navigator, Air ride problem. Driverside front and rear bags appear fully inflated. The passenger side looks normal height. When I shut the truck off driverside stays jacked up and passenger side...

My suggestion to you and all the other folks leaving questions on this board about collapsed air suspension systems in luxury cars is to fix that one by replacing it with a real spring and shock system which you can buy at www.strutmasters.com if it is economically feasible, then sell it and avoid air suspensions systems like the plague. There are legions of old 70s Citroens still sitting idle 30 years later on collapsed air suspensions systems in garages and barns all over the country which cars the buyers can't let go because they cost so damn much. Get a coleman air mattress and use it every day, see how long it really lasts.

How do i reset the SERVICE RIDE CONTROL message that comes up every time i turn on my truck once i've made sure the shocks and compressor are in good shape

THIS LIGHT IS ON BECAUSE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR SUSPENSION RIDE CONTROL, IT WILL GO OFF AS SOON AS U REPAIR THAT PROBLEM WHICH IS MOST LIKELY A LEAKING AIR SUSPENSION AIR BAG, THERE IS NO RESET AS THE RIDE CONTROL DOESN''T HAVE A MEMORY AND CAN'T STORE CODES, IT ONLY COMES ON WHEN A PROBLEM IS PRESENT IN REAL TIME.

Service ride control

rear compressor use to come on often(heard "minor" left rear air leak after stopping and shutting car off). The compressor always came on at start up. after a well loaded family camping trip, the compreesor stopped comming on. when we arrived and I unloaded the cargo, the compressor came on and raised the rear end of the vehicle after unloading the "camping stuff" the compressor came on and re-leveled the car. After trip home and unloaded, the compressor no longer comes on, although car is level and rides nice, but when people used to get in the back seats, the compressor came on and slightly raised the vehicle. I found no blown fuses. would dealer codes say bad compreesor or is there a way to check the compressor? also if I replace the shocks with ones that do not require the compressor, will I be able to ever pull a heavely load car or tow anything without dragging/sagging? any information or insight would be much appreciated... thanks in advance

Service ride control

It's time to replace the rear shocks. There expensive like $250.00 and up each and if your not going to be towing, most people replace them with a good set of shocks and not the factor OEM air shock which you have for the auto ride height system. If your going to just buy and good set of normal gas shocks. Pull the fuse to     the auto ride system so the light on the dash is off.
Good luck and hope this helps. The auto ride system was there for towing heavy trailers to keep the ride hight. The rear suspension is actually soft so you have a soft ride and the shock keeps it from bouncing. If your not towing heavy or carring heavy loads, you should be fine with a conventional gas shocks and you may find it better. I found the Monroe Reflex shocks to be more stable then the OEM around corners and highway driving.
