Where is the timing chain tensioner located on a 4.0 SOHC, 1998 Ford Explorer 2 door

The tensioner is located at the rear (right side) of motor. Jack the car up, remove right front wheel, remove the splash guard. Looking up, above the exhaust manifold near rear of motor you'll see a BLACK 25mm or 27mm bolt head....That's the tensioner.

1996 Ford contour automatic 2.0 L with air-conditioning and no turbo. How do I change the serpentine belt

Either locate the belt routing diagram that is usually located under the hood somewhere, or take a photo of the path of the current belt. Locate the belt tensioner pulley. Using an appropriate ratchet or belt removal tool, release tension on the old belt and slide the old belt off the pulleys. Thread the new belt over the pulleys in the same configuration as the diagram (or photo), release tension of the tensioner and slide the belt on it. Allow the tensioner to take up the belt slack. Inspect the belt for proper routing and to ensure that it is on all pulleys correctly.

Cannot find belt tensioner on 2001 ford escort

  • Locate the serpentine belt tensioner on the front of the engine. The belt tensioner on the 2001 Ford Escort is located directly under the power steering pump and above the air conditioner pump. The belt tensioner has a 17 mm bolt head in the center of the pulley.

Belt diagram on 2002 ford taruas 3.0 offers a free online comprehensive serpentine belt reference tool - including routing diagrams and tensioner information.

Somewhere under the hood, usually on the fan shroud or near the radiator, there should be a sticker with a diagram of the belt routing, 2001 may even be on the hood. On this diagram it will show a tensioner pulley and idler pulley and the approximate location. Most Fords use a 15mm or 16mm bolt on the tensioner, this is where you put a wrench to rotate the tensioner and remove the belt. When you turn the tensioner bolt turn towards the front of the car, there will be a lot of tension so pull hard.

I need a diagram to replace the serpintine belt for a ford taurus2002

i've tried to find diagrams on the internet, they are hard to find without paying for them. look under the hood near the radiator, there should be a diagram. if not check your owners manual. if you don't have one, there are 2 free options, one go to autozone or a similar place and ask them, they'll put your make model and year into their computer and it usually has a diagram (worked for me and mine is an old car). failing all of these, go to a library and find a "Chilton's" or "Hayne's" manual for your car, they usually have one that covers a few different cars with similar setups
