I have a 91 s10 the gas tank is rusted badly and fuel pump is bad I also have a 96 s10 that runs buut bottom end is knocking so I want to take the tank with the pump in it out of 96 and put it in the 91...

The '96 pump will not work with TBI, so no, that wouldn't work. If the tank mounting is the same, and the hole for the pump is the same, you might be able to use the tank, and then buy a pump for your '91. Or look for a gas tank from salvage.

Been using 87 octane in '02 maxima for 1yr. have replaced oxy & nkock sensors. Is this due to low octane?

Ok the 2002 Maxima 3.5 requires premium fuel 91 octane. According to the owners manual for optimum performance use 91 octane, you can use 87 octane unless you get pinging sounds. Sounds like you just need to use the proper octane. Occasionally I will run regular 87 and can really feel a loss of power. When I use 91 octane the car is a rocket ship.

Nockingnoise while the car is runing or stop

Are you putting regular gas in it? Sometimes a knock can happen when you don't use the correct gas. G35 are high performance and need 87-91 octane gas

Does the 09 es350 need 93 octane gas or will it run on 87 octane

you should have a factory affixed sticker inside gas compartment cover listing premium fuel only or also listed in your owners manual. Otherwise if you notice that you're vehicle is making a pinging sound while accelerating or climbing a hill for instance then you may want to step up to 89 or 93 octane and try to avoid purchasing fuel with ethanol added it's **** and degrades your fuel quality/octane ratio

91 Chevy Blazer gas tank needs cleaning.

the only thing i can help you with is the replacement. go to a big scrap yard, give them your measurements, and they will find a gas tank for you. my gas tank was about $100 and my friend put it in for free so i cant help you there.

Getting better gas milage....

Hey there, well if its anything like mine(91 cressy) its pretty thirsty! but things worth checking(if u havnt already) are the engine timing, fuel filter, air filter, as they will make a huge differnce. still im getting 11L per 100 around town, and i dont exactly flog it. and about the octane, i realy wouldnt worry too much if its just the non turbo version, although sticking to 91octane or above is always a good idea. usually only costs a few extra dollars a tank for 98 octane here in Australia, so i think its worth it.

Cheers

Ideal gasoline

87 octane is ideal for your accent.

It's a little commuter car. It's designed to save you money.
Anything over 87 is just a waste of money, UNLESS your engine is knocking at 87. Then you should step up to the next highest grade.
89 is a made up octane. It's just a mix of the lowest grade and the highest grade. I used to work at a mobil gas station for a year, and the only grades i knew wer 87 and 93, but 89 was an available option. it's just a way for oil companies to benefit off of ignorance.
91 and 93 is for high performance engines, turbo-induction, superchargers, that sort of stuff.
you should be fine sticking with the 87 though, but move up to "89 octane" or 91/93 if your engine knocks a lot.
hope this helps.

TYPE OF FUEL

all vtechs will run well on regular gas..87.....a suggestion though from a veteran mechanic who's seen many many vehicles with fuel related problems over the yrs..stay away from arco (methane fuels) they damage internals due to high particulate damaging moisture content...and fill up once every 10 tankfuls with premium 91 octane high quality fuel(Unocal 76) to clean and blow out residual carbon etc from combustion chamber
