There should be a serial number stamped into the engine bloch where one head sits back further than the other. With this serial number you should be able to find the correct engine size from a dealer or possibly a salvage yard. Ford only produced 3 small block engines at that time which were a 289 cubic inch, a 302 cubic inch and a 351 which all look the same from the outside.
At 1964 was the last year for the 292 V-8 engine, from the 1965 Ford F-100 was equipped with a 352 V-8.
