Suggest you go back to battery 1st try boosting your car for 10minutes and then try to start your car.if no start then check main fuse box under the hood, will be black box on drivers side, lift the cover off of box, under the lid you will see position of fuses for starter and the starter relay, check both of those. if both of those are good it may be bad starter, which will need replaced by a certified mechanic,or else, you get what you pay for. suggest you get quotes from local repair facilities, unless it's covered under your 'extended warranty' if not, then shop around for quality recommended work. you can find a picture of the replacement at clear

My Husband and i have a 2004 Buick Randevouse and the security light flashes off and on, windows and door locks wont work and radio and lights locked out but vehicle cranks up and runs

check fuses on the items that dont work as on the legs of the fuse sometimes a brown residue builds and this could stop them working, if so change the relevant fuses.

heck all your fuses. Sorry to tell you this, but you may have snuffed out your computer-that can happen. Check all fuses, see if check engine light comes on when key is turned to on Good luck.

My 2004 pontiac grand prix gt wont start when i went to turn it on this morning to go to work nothing happened it just made a clicking noice. The guy at pep boys said that the battery was good. when i try...

if you turn headlights on and turn key to start do you hear clicking? if so starter is possibly bad, lets trouble shoot your problem.suggest you check the fuses under hood in black box, make sure those are good. when you turn the key, you should hear at least a click or else the starter is not drawing current.try turning the headlights on and at same time turn the key and try to start, if lights go dim the starter is drawing current, does it click? if so then bad starter. if no noise at all,,still could be a bad starter.suggest that you remove the starter and have it checked out.also make sure the car is in park for sure before you do any of this. hope this helps!!

Security on. car wont crank. can trun key wont

verify that you have a fully charge battery and that you have the same amount of voltage at the battery as at the starter when the key is turned to the start position. If not repair fault at positive cable either at battery or at starter. If voltage checks good. Use a remote starter and turn key to the on position and try to crank over engine with remote starter. if engine cranks over. You have a defective starter solenoid and starter must be replaced.

It wont start

Assuming that the connections are correct, you could have dirty battery terminals, bad starter-motor, blown fuse, bad iginition-switch.
If aall the above are good, take out the starter-motor to a shop to test it.

What to know how to tell if ignition key is going bad

Check for voltage to the "start" side of the soliniod. It'll be the little wire. Check voltage from that wire to ground while an assistant turns the key to the start possision. If you don't have 12v, then start working your way back.....asssuming you have a good hot battery w/ good connections and your neutral saftey switch (auto) or clutch switch (standard) are opperational. Jump the switches and see if you have anything then. If not, the it might be the ign switch.
