If you put in a used board or uses bulbs, I can see your problem. Normally if you replace both the board and bulbs with new the problem goes away. If you put the new parts in and still have this trouble, then I don't know.

If you have a pigtail wired into the sysytem for a trailer you probably have a short in the light system. This short will burn out the board

Can't imagine how this is possible, since the entire car is the exact same 12 volts, and 12 volts is not supposed to be able to burn out any bulb made for 12 volts.
One possibility is that there is a corroded socket causing arcing or heating, that is accelerating wear.
Try switching the one from the other side, and putting the new one in the socket that does not burn out.
If it is still going bad, then you know you are putting in the correct bulb at least.
Arcing can cause a vibration of the filament, and premature failure.

Oily spark plug, changed plugs now car smokes

You changed 6 coils, but you didn't change spark plugs? The new coils give strong spark to burn off resisdues from your old plugs plus what ever left inside the combustion due to bad old coils causing smoke and bad ordor. Change all new spark plugs so you can have good ignition to burn off all junks inside combustion chambers. Smokes are at the beginning, but it will go away after less than 10 minutes.
If it is not going away you may have other problemS:
Rich mixture causing engine check light come on.
Check if engine oil level.
Check if your coolant level.
Open the oil cap to see if you have milky stuff. If there is milky stuff then you have bad head gasket.
Let me know what is coming out so others can learn from your experience. Good luck.

Signal lights work when they want to.

It seems you have an electrical short somewhere. Unfortunately these are not easy to diagnose. Look for any broken or frayed wiring. With the lights on, flex the wiring harness in and around the areas that connect to each light to see if you can make the light go on and off.

Break lights won't work

Check the left rear tail light assembly. They are very common to get water into them and corrode, causing electrical problems in the internal circuitboard. If the board is rotten, check with GM. You can buy the complete tail light assembly (including the circuit board) for less that just the board itself!!! Good luck!
