Question about 1996 Jeep Cherokee

1 Answer

Whenever I bought my 96 Jeep Cherokee it didnt have an ECU but it ran without it but just recently it would be running and then out of nowhere it would just stop and coast to a stop so I bought one flashed and manufactured and still I'm not getting a spark and its not starting. I've tried everything any suggestions?

Hello eddie_gar267,

One of the main items that cause the problem you describe is the crank position sensor. It's mounted on the bell housing on the left side (drivers side) of the engine.

96 Jeep cherokee ran out of gas, re-fuel, won't start. No spark.

You may have to prime the fuel pump. Or replace the fuel pump if that does not work. Why do you let it run out of gas? This is definately not good for an injected motor. It will continue to cause more and more problems. Fuel injectors should never run dry.
