Question about Isuzu Oasis

1 Answer

My speedometer does not work on my 1996 isuzu oasis, There was a pop underneath the vehicle whilw I was driving, and it quit working. I assume that it is the speedsensor; however, I see on your site that other people have replaced the speed sensor and it did not fix the problem. How do you test to find out if the speedometer is bad or not before you replace the speed sensor? Thanks

See a honda dealer since honda made it for isuzu. I worked for an isuzu dealer in the parts dept. never sold any speedometer parts for an Oasis.

THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING WHEN IT GETS HOT ON MY 2004 TRAIL BLAZER THANKS.

If everything else works ok, the vehicle drives normally, and all the other gauges are working then you may have a bad speedometer servo motor. This servo is what actually moves the speedometer needle to match the speed you are driving at. The cluster would need to come out and be repaired to fix this problem if this is the case.

My speedometer quit but the odometer still works (1998 F150) can you solve this

Usually it's the opposite. The speedometer works and the odomater and trip meter go inop. Most likely the speedometer assembly is bad. If the odometer is working you have a signal from the gray and black wire .

You need to replace the speedometer gear that drives the sensor.

Yes your speedometer, and odometer are controlled by your speed sensor.

1996 cavalier speedo quit working .now tranny will not shift of first.replaced vss sensor fluid and filter.

I'm assuming this is an automatic transmission.

It sounds as though your drive gear in the transmission or on the governor has worn out and is not longer being driven when the vehicle moves. Without the governor, the transmission will not shift and the speedometer will not work as they are both driven from the same area.
You will have to remove the governor cover ( it is the cover the VSS or PM generator mounts) and remove the governor to see if the drive gear is damaged.
Let me know what you find.

NEED RADIO CODE ON A 1996 ISUZU OASIS

If this is the factory radio you must contact an Isuzu dealer.
They will need the Vehicle Id number. The radio chassis number and the customers name. They will have to call: Pioneer Electronics Service, 800-553-3756 to receive the code.
