My 2005 chevrolet impala wont start with out stepping on gas

So what does that tell you ?

The switches on the gas pedal, if you have that system
or the TPS Sensor, the switches send a signal to
open the throttle plate.

If you got no throttle input, even without
touching the gas, then it is a possible issue

There may be 6 other things

Repairing a vehicle has become an art of testing,
to solve those type problems,waste of time &
money to throw parts at it

2005 chevy impala was running hot stopped put water in it now it wont start back motor turns over but wont start battery dead

Head gaskets blown or cracked head. It only takes 1 time of running hot to cause damage as the heads are aluminum and the blocks is iron.

many things could cause this so get the OBD codes raed to point to the switch/sensor/circuit at fault , could be coil packs , crank sensor or many others so OBD first

look under the hood while vehicle is running, this will be the easiest way to find it. it may be something as simple as a dry rotted rubber fuel line.

are you sure your plug wires are on the right plugs, sounds to me like they're not

fuel pressure regulator ! $50.location/top right side engine.smells like gas in cab strong while parked with air /heat on . check this. mine started leeking gas after 60,000 miles. easy fix one star bolt/hose/gasket 15 minutes.

Changed ignition cylinder in 2005 impala but wont start

turn the key on and leave for about 20 minutes so it can relearn. may have to do this a couple times. then try starting
