If your car is at your house, you can also charge the battery via the cigarette lighter. A minimum amount of charging will restore the electronic release function.

I NEED TO OPEN THE TRUNK ON A 2005 JAGUAR XK8 THE OWNER LOST THE MASTER SECURITY KEY I HAVE THE VALEY KEY AND THE BATTERY IS DEAD !

Can you open the bonnet or hood and use jump leads to take power to the main fuse box. The red thick lead to the box, where it goes through part of the wing panel to the box. Put the earth to the engine. Be careful not to spark live to earth you might get burnt or damage the electrics. Then press the boot button. Again be careful.

My power pack has no power at the leads to jump start my vehicle

are you connecting the power pack correctly. When jump starting the red power lead goes on the positive battery terminal (+ to + ) and the black lead goes on the engine (- to -) not the battery as this stops a power surge that can destroy the ECM. Blowing fuses indicates that you may be connecting black to red and this amounts to a dead short which will blow fuses.

Battery completly dead. need to access battery in trunk.

hi .....wrong there is a simple answer lol, open your hood/bonnet under there you should find a plastic cover with a + on it, lift that cover and there should be what looks like a brass nut and tall, get a friend , or if possible a new battery and some jump leads, connect the red + to the + under hood/bonnet and connect the - earth to any part under the hood/bonnet ie, something that is connected to the body as the earth is connected this way, and hey presto....you can open everything and get to your lifeless plastic brick in the back lol....hope this helps please vote thanks

Dead battery and can't open the bonnet. Tried charging it through the fuse panel, but it won't take a charge enough to activate the switch.

Connect a jump pack to the RED pull out lug and connect the neg black jump pack lead and connect to the door striker. Then re-attempt to operate switch for bonnet on sill panel OR press bonnet button on the key remote. Failing this attempt, you can attempt to locate the emergency bonnet release stainless cord. This is hidden behind the front bumper bar and inner wheel arch liner on the right side of the car. Sometimes it is taped up under the right side headlight, and if you are lucky, you might see it if you pull out the side indicator lamp which is located by a spring clip at one end. Note that you need to give the cable a hard pull, so be careful to not tear the top of your finger off trying to pull the cable....use pliers.

Porsche 2005 2.7 boxster flat battery?

Hi
If you open fusebox in footwell there is a RED section you pull out by fuse removal tool-this can be used as a permenant feed for a battery jump pack-red lead on the Red in fusebox and black on door check strap this will give you power to open front boot to get to battery.
