Hi, you can download a manual here: https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp

The brake and turn lamps run on fuses 62 and 65 in the engine compartment fuse box. There are a lot of other things running on these fuses, so my guess is they are OK. If your brake and turn lamps are not working, I would suspect the smart junction box (SJB), which controls the lights. The SJB is in the fuse box under the dash. It is #2 on the list on page 233 of the owner's manual. It's listed as "accessory delay relay 2."
Please let me know if you have any more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

In the power distribution box located in the engine capartment is a fuse for the brake and turn signals. Howerver it says for trailer so I don't know if this is what you are looking for. I have looked all through and that is the only fuse I see for that kind of a circuit together. I am a mechanic and own a shop but to be honest I haven't worked on many Freestars. Below is a diagram of the power distribution box and fuse numbers. If you want an owners manual for your vehicle, email me at csautomotivecars@att.net with your make, model & year and I will be happy to email you a copy of it for you so you can look through yourself if you want or since you don't have one maybe you would want it anyway. Don't worry there is no cost to you for me email it to you. I hope this helps and good luck. here is your picture:

Why do all break lights quit working?

If the high mount brake light goes out also, replace the brake switch at the brake pedal. If it always works, replace the turn signal switch.

Use a vacuum pump brake bleeder starting at the furthest point from the master cylinder. They cost abt $35. Be sure to keep master cylinder full... :)
