no it was running right before it died and i cant find a leak anywhere. I was tempted to think likely some sensor wearing out or not picking up the right signal.

you will not find a leak if its drawing in air from along the line somewhere like a rubber pipe gone porous ,now on the explorer vehicle their is a electronic controled switch on top of the fuel tank which is connected to the immobilisor ,drop tank and join the two thick wires together on this device and just ignore the two thin ones ,??? not sure if this will help as i only have limited experiance on american vehicles

Why wont my car fire

Hi Wendy, I'm glad to help. If you have the 2.5 liter engine that year has a problem with the Distributor going bad. I'm not sure which engine you have, but if in fact it is the 2.5 liter ave yourself some time and go to the parts store and get a distributor. CAUTION: When installing the distributor on the engine take care not to break the coil tower that sticks up out of the distributor because if you break it the car will not start. Wendy, if you have a different engine disregard this information. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Wendy!

run fault codes to find faulty sensors. Cam/crank position sensors. Check to see if the cam shaft is turning (broken timing belt)

We replaced the Water pump and Timing belt on a 1999 Plymouth Neon 2.0 Single Overhead Cam Engine. Engine Cranks, Is getting Fuel...but no spark. We changed the Coil Pack. It still cranks, but no...

If its not getting spark the choices are limited. You already replaced the coil pack so whats left is ignition module, crank sensor, knock sensor, cam sensor, or the timing was not was not set properly when putting it back together. Any one of those would create a no spark situation.

Replaced crank shaft 99 blazer, how do I orientate the crank shaft to the cam? I have set the arrow on the cam gear down turned crank till number 1 piston is very near TDC in alinement with V on the crank...

4.3 liter, right? I think you have it right--see pic below. So it cranks but no fire happening? Did you check firing order, etc.? Getting sparks? Fuel pump coming on? Injectors firing? If you had the engine out of the car, make sure you got all the ground wires back in place, etc.

the heated o2 sensor is bad or has a bad connection it is usually the sensor after the catalytic converter and from the description you gave i wold say it is the one after the converter and you need to check any engine speed sensors crank sensors or cam sensors. the crank sensor would be by the crankshaft im not sure where the cam sensor would be and some vehicles wont have one im not sure if yours does
