I have a 95 Chevy Silverado. The negative bolt on the side mount battery is stripped. How do I get it off? How do I replace the bolt? The guys at NAPA were NO help whatsoever.

The mounts on a bettery are normally made of lead. If the battery mounts are stripped but the battery is still good then you can get a slightly larger bolt and force it into the lead mount, lead is soft so the new bolt should self tap.
If the bolt is stripped then you can easily get a replacement bolt. You can push the existing bolt out of the rubber part on the battery cable and replace it.

How to put on an alternator

disconnect positive battery cable first. Then disconnect wires on altenator then remove bolts holding altenater in place remove belt. Mount new altenater in place dont tighten bolts till you get belt back on then apply pressure to snug up belt while tightening bolts. Some times its easier to put wires back on starter before mounting just be careful not to damage wires. When this is all done reconnect positive cable and start car. While car is running disconnect positive cable if car stays running you are done reconnect cable if it does you did something wrong recheck your work. Its possible to buy a part bad right from the start.

Complete power loss - 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500

It sounds like either alternator or computer, I f you can get it to run on its own pull the positive battery cable off the battery and if it dies its your alternator. And this is no real way to check the computer except going up to a AutoZone and they can check codes for free

Hello , I have a 2006 chevy silverado. engine turns but wont start, battery dies quick if playing radio for a short time could it be the battery

there are two possible solutions, one its the battery which everyone accuses when there is no start, two the alternator could be not charging the battery the way it should. I hope that helps.
