P0128 is coolant below threashold sounds like you may have a stiky thermostat. The computer is indicating a problem because the engines expected temperature is not being achived in the expected time.

P1122 Pedal Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input. Poss faulty or damaged sensor

P1000 is drive cycles not compleated. Please see http://ww.bluejag.co.uk for more information on drive cycles

Two odd ones and not directly related. Sorry can't really be anymore help than that.

How can you tell if a new gearbox is needed other than a Ecu which has been replaced

have the fault codes read first
if the car is moving in limp mode with no obvious noises or problems , replacement of the box is a total last resort
light on the dash and limp mode can be transmission or engine or both but the fault codes will show the problem area
The ECU -- engine control unit or ECM --engine control module gets messages from the transmission control module ---TCM--and that TCM controls solenoids and servos , vss and other items that if faulty will put the car in limp mode
read the fault codes

Mechanics advised that gearbox needs replace after diagnostic Of codes . Dash light still on after codes being read , have had ecu replaced 2yrs ago ? What do you think it could be , thanks phil

didnt specify vehicle --generic answer--until repair is made the vehicle will show engine light and have codes --if gearbox is problem for limp mode /until repairs are made or gearbox replaced you will be in limp mode --and as to sensor find out what one it was --start problem may show back up if sensor was problem --and GET a 3rd opinion you have 2 mechanics with different opinions on your problem and i guess they are reading your trouble codes differently

When I accelerate hard to pass my check engine light comes on and the vehicle goes into limp home mode.

Get the vehicle looked at by a garage. The reason it goes into limp home mode is to protect the engine from further damage. The reason the check engine light comes on is because the engine needs checking with some urgency.

I have p1000 and c1175 codes

P0128 is a Coolant Thermostat Malfunction

P1000 shows that the fault code has been reset recently (but this code will not bring the warning light on)

C1175 I think is Speed Wheel Sensor LR Input Circuit Failure or Input circuit failure and could be directly related to your ABS fault light indication.

BMW (e39 1999) eml and asc lights and in limp mode

Check the ABS brake sensors in your wheels, if they are not functioning properly. It will trigger the computer to engage the ASC auto stability control light as the asc uses the brakes to assist in control. I will also engage the EML engine management light to slow the rev point to limp mode

1996 dodge avenger when cold, the transmission go in limp mode

Is the vehicle's Check Engine Light on? It should briefly light up when you turn the key on (before you start the engine) to show that the light is working correctly. Based on what I've read I believe you should have one or more trouble codes. A place like AutoZone will read the trouble codes for you for free, and you can look them up here - http://www.engine-light-help.com/generic-check-engine-light-codes.html

1997 isuzu wizard mu check light

Code 24 is a vehicle speed signal sensor fault, the sensor most likely does not provide a useable signal until about 25 MPH, when the computer doesn't see any signal after that speed it turns on the light. Make sense?
