The power steering pump is located in line with the rest of the belt driven units (alternator , water pump and AC compressor). It has a cap on it to check the fluid level... so should be easy to spot.
DO NOT reach into the belt area while the engine is running!!

The transmission fluid should be checked with the engine completely warmed up and running. The fluid should be within the parramiters of the cross hatching on the dip stick.
do not overfill!! too much trans fluid is as bad as not enough...

My Astra holden has 2 dipsticks one i know is for oil level the other just a /14 inch from the oil dipstick is my question , what is the second dipstick for??

Might you have an automatic transmission?
Automatic transmissions have their own dipstick.
I don't know about Aussies, but here in the states, transmission fluid has red die added to it to prevent your mixing them, and to tell you whether it is engine oil or transmission fluid that is leaking.
If you mix them by mistake, you must drain them and put in the correct fluid, or suffer ruining the engine or transmission, which ever one has the wrong fluid.
Your oil light should not be coming on. That is a different problem.
Oh, yes. There may be a dipstick on the power steering pump it you have power steering, but it should be really small. (short)

Trans fluid is red/brown. Stick shows "Full". Noise when turning or going straight. Thank you Charles

Transmission fluid should be bright red. You need to get your transmission fluid changed. Also, the sound that you are hearing when turning and going straight could be your power steering pump going bad, or running dry. When the power steering fluid gets low, the power steering pump tries pumping air, making a growling/whining sound. Try checking your power steering fluid level.
Hope this helps,
Matt

Where is the power steering reservoir located on the 1990 Toyota Carolla?

Make sure that your vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool before you check fluid levels. Power steering fluid and other fluids read at different levels when warm instead of cool. Locate the power steering fluid reservoir. It is located under the hood of your Toyota Corolla on the passenger side next to the engine. The reservoir is connected to the power steering pump. Remove the cap and use the dipstick to check the fluid level. For the most accurate reading, clean off the dipstick with a rag first, then re-insert and remove for the fresh reading. Add automatic transmission fluid or power steering fluid approved for use in Toyota vehicles if the fluid is below the low level mark. Add fluid gradually to keep for over filling the reservoir.
this will help.thanks.

Let AAMCO try it if they will guarantee that that is the fix. Be sure to use HONDA TRANS FLUID. Of course they wont gaurantee anything, unless they sell you the whole trans.

Where do i put the power steering fluid in a 1992 nissan sentra and where is the place to put the tranmission fluid

POWER STEERING PUMP IS USUALLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR . YOU WILL SEE FAN BELTS AND PULLEYS CLOSE TO THE FIR WALL YOU SHOULD SEE A CAP THAT SAYS POWER STEERING
THE OIL TUBE IS BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE FIRE WALL YOU SHOULD SEE A YELLOW TEE HANDLE OR A RING FOR YOUR FINGER THIS IS FOR THE TRANSMISSION. YOU MUST ALWAYS CHECK THE TRANS WHEN HOT AND RUNNING AND NEVER OVER FILL YOU WILL SEE SLASH MARKS ON THE STICK NEVER FILL ABOVE THE SLASH MARKS

Check automatic transmission fluid level

Dipstick is to the left of the engine. Should be a small yellow dipstick. Add fluid through the dipstick hole. The vehicle should be running when you do this. It is best to have driven at least 20 miles before adding trans fluid so everything has had time to get hot.

Gear fluid

Most automatic transmissions do not have a filler plug or cap. The transmission fluid is added by using a long-neck funnel, which is placed in the tube the dipstick for the transmission sits in. Be sure to test the level while the engine is running, with the transmission in either park or neutral. Be very careful not to over fill the transmission, and make sure that you have the right kind of transmission fluid for your vehicle.
