I have the same problem. It drained my battery. When I got a new battery,as soon as I hooked it up, the fan started innediately, and the car had been sitting for a day, so needless to say, the car wasn't warm. The new battery got drained too. The car has 163k.

Fan is not coming on in my 2001 VW Beetle. Checked fuses and all are ok. Where do I go from here?

Bad fans are common. You can either turn the AC on to see if that will trigger them, or jump the thermo switch at the bottom of the radiator.

There is also a fan control module located in the area under the battery, but diagnosing this is difficult.

Fan for blower wont come on

First check and see if you have blown a fuse and you can refer to your owners manual book to find location of fuse box and also it will tell you which fuse runs the fan!

How to Check fan control module 2001 vw beetle? Power is getting to both 30A inputs but no output. In addition to both fans not working a/c clutch will not engage.

Sounds like your fan speed switch. I had the same problem. The fan speed switch is the main power switch to your AC. VW only sells the whole cluster wholesale around 150.00. Let me know if you need instruction on removing cluster.

The car is overheating water is backing into the overflow and bubbling this is a 2001 volkswagen Beetle 2.0

several possable problems, with car cooled down, start engine and turn on a/c, this should make your cooling fan come on, if it doesn't problem is in that circuit or fan itself. if the cooling fan comes on, watch temp gauge when it reaches half way up gauge carefully go touch upper and lower hoses, both should be warm. if one is still cool that is a flow problem and could be the thermostat or a failing water pump.

Fan relay module

I could not find this info except that it is in the fuse panel.
Open the driver's door and look about middle ways down on the side panel. You will see the fuse panel door about 4" x 4" in size.
