I need the manufacturers code for my radio and can't find it...

Check the cigarette fuse, Sometimes it's the memory of the clock on the radio and if you pop that from a cell phone your radio won't work..

I'm pretty sure you'll need to contact the manufacturer of the radio about a security code, or maybe your local VW dealership can help you if the radio is stock. I'd try the dealership first.

Yes the radio theft lock was activated, you need to bring you vehicle to the dealer. They will need your registration, and they will need to pull radio ID number and contact the manufacturer for the code, as long as it is original radio or it has been replaced through a dealer. If not the manufacturer will decline the request stating the radio could be stolen. I will use jumper cables connected to a battery or another car when changing a battery so that doesn't happen.

1. With the Unlock Code
   • 1 Locate the anti-theft/unlock code. Most cars have a special anti-theft radio card that is included with the owners manual packet containing the unlock code and serial number. Some cars also have the code in the car manual or inside the glove compartment. You will need this code in order to unlock your car radio.
     
   • 2 Turn the car's ignition switch to the "on" position. This turns on your car's electrical system and powers up the radio. The word "CODE" will display on the screen. Note: depending on the manufacturer some radios will display either "ENTER" or "LOC" on the screen instead.

   • 3 Enter the anti-theft/unlock radio code. Press the "Tune" button on your stereo. It will change the screen from "CODE" to blank. Press the button to scroll through the available numbers. When you reach the correct number press the button once and hold it down for a few seconds. The number will appear on the display and you can now repeat the process to input the second number, third number etc., until all of the numbers are in. If you entered the code correctly the car stereo will unlock and instantly become functional. Depending on your car manufacturer, if you enter the code incorrectly you will not be able to re-enter it again from 1 to 24 hours.
     
   Without the Unlock Code
   • 4 Call your car manufacturer directly. Your car manufacturer's phone number is in your owner's manual. Ask to be connected to the support department. Tell them you need to reactivate you car stereo and you will be asked for proof of ownership. They will need your car's VIN number, the account number from your bill of sale and a form of personally identifiable information like your driver's license. You may need to fax this information. Once everything checks out the manufacturer will give you the code.
     
   • 5 Enter the code and unlock your stereo. Use the code you received from the manufacturer to unlock and and activate your car stereo.
     
   • 6 Go to a car dealership. Take your car to its manufacturer dealership to get the stereo unlocked. For example, if your car is a Honda go to a Honda dealership. Once you have proven that you are the owner of the car, the dealership will be able to retrieve the code from the manufacturer and activate the radio for you.
     

If you need the radio code for your radio then you need to go to Mitsubishi for that. the only people that can give you the code for your radio is in fact the manufacturer of that radio. (which in your case is Mitsubishi)

you will need to contact the dealership ..this is an anti-theft -deterrent in the event your radio is stolen ...and applies to all newer model vehicles ...although its possible someone such as the salesman or previous owner if applicable wrote it down on a separate piece of paper or within the service Manuel ..

If the original factory code doesn't work, you need to pull out the radio and get the serial number on the side of it. Then contact the car dealer or the manufacturer and they would give you the code.

The code that you are referring to is also called the anti-theft code. This code is unique for each radio. No body could provide you the exact code except for the dealer or manufacturer.

check the radio manufacturer's website for a manual My wife had a similar problem with her car radio and the manufacturer had a manual in PDF format that she donwloaded and was able to rest her radio.

Passat 97 need to re-enter code ( 4 ) digit, however it shows the number 2 on the on screen when the radio is turned on.

take your radio out and it should have a couple of numbers on the back.
The serial number and manufacturer number.
There should also be the original code for the radio which was set into the radio itself when it left the manufacturers.
