The first thing to check would be the relay for the pump . Im not sure where this is located on your vehicle . But i know the pumps are good and tend to last the life of the vehicle Try going to a parts store and when they punch it up on the computer ask to look at the screen it will show you where the relay center is and they are always excessable and the relay maybe 5 to 10 dollars tops you just unplug it and plug the new one in .Unless the pump burned out and that frided the relay you should be good . Give it a try its cheap and easy to do then you will know ware you stand

Idon't understand why this is comeing up like this on the screen some how the post may not have went through correctly but the pump usely dosn't have problems the relay is likely the issue There is what is called a relay center go to the parts store ask for them to look up the relay then look at the computer screen and this will show excatly where the relay center is and there always exessable with out tools its just a unplug swap out of the relay . It still could be your pump but they tend to last forever and its uncomoun to have to replace them

Fuse for Mitsubishi fuel pump

It is critically important for turbocharged models that the fuel pump receive the maximum amount of voltage available from the charging and wiring system. The alternator will try to maintain about 13.5 volts into the system. Resistive losses along the current path to the pump will reduce the voltage at the pump to something less than 13.5. If there are less than 12 volts at the pump, the amount of fuel flowing may be much less than expected and perhaps enough less to create lean air-fuel mixtures under heavy boost.

The instructions below show you how to bypass the resistor and relay that the turbocharged 3S models use to reduce voltage to the pump at idle. Please read through the instructions and look at the pictures before attempting this procedure. Before I did this relay/resistor bypass I measured the voltage at the pump using the method shown on my web page 2-fuelpumpvoltage.htm. At idle the pump was receiving about 6.7 to 7.0 volts. I saw from 10.6 to 10.8 volts as boost began to build and then watched that number drop to 10.2 to 10.3 volts as boost hit 15 psi or so and RPM approached redline. After performing the relay/resistor bypass I remeasured the voltage at the fuel pump with the following results.

Cold idle: 11 volts
Warm idle: ~10.6 volts
Warm idle after radiator fan kicked in: 10.35 - 10.55 volts
Acceleration and boost: ~10.5 volts

No fuel coming to the fuel rail. is it a relay, or fuel pump problem

  1. Check the power going to the fuel pump. If it gets around 12 volts when the key is turned to the On position, replace the fuel pump.
  2. If the fuel pump is not getting around 12 volts, check and replace the fuse for the fuel pump.
  3. If the fuse is fine, replace the relay for the fuel pump.

Mitsubishi eclispe 2001 rs won't start theres no spark and dont hear the gas pumping

change the pcm relay or fuse. this relay supply 12 volt to fuel pump and ignition coil. go to the dealer and ask for the diagram for pcm relay and read it carefully or ask a friend to help you. check the fuse that supply 12v to the relay. mechanic shop will charge you for big price for electrical problem. most pcm relay is near the car computer at passenger side.

How to check electrical problems whit the fuel pump

first turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump to come on for 15 sec.this is to prime the system before you crank the engine.no sound, with only a rubber mallet( no metal hammers )hit the bottom of the gas tank,no fuel pump operating go to the fuel pump relay and remove then test for (2) 12 volt power supplies with key on,if ok check ground at relay if okay remove gas from tank and drop gas tank to check for voltage at pump.replace pump if 12 volts is present.

I have no power to the fuel pump unless I jump at the diagnosis under hood. I have 12 volts to the circuit opening relay and with the key turned forward I also have 12 volts to and the leg on the co relay....

fuel pump only runs for 3 seconds or when the engine is running. Cycle key with meter hooked up or ear on gastank.. Listen and watch. for a quick 3 seconds.. The spark your experiencing is most likely your touching a ground connection. If you have 3 seconds of power then you prabably need a fuel pump.

Hello;
You may have a break in the wire inside the tank to the fuel pump. I have seen the wires disconnect as the pump is installed.

Saab 900 1996 wont start spark but no fuel coming through from pump

Replace the fuel pump. First though make sure your are getting power to your fuel pump. You should have at minimum 12 volts DC. If you have volts then it would be a sending unit problem if no volts then the pump has gone bad and needs replaced
