Why once I have driven my 1998 Ford Explorer XLT and the motor warms up and I turn off the switch. The ignition will not turn over. I can. Crossout the cylinoid and it starts automatically

Hey Opie , how are thing's in Mayberry ? Ha Ha Ha , bet you get that a lot .
The ignition will not turn over. You mean the starter will not turn over ? When you turn the key to the start position nothing happens ? The starter doesn't spin the engine .
Could be a few reasons . High resistance in the starting circuits . Do you have and know how to use a volt meter ? Doing voltage drop testing on the starter motor , cables .

Starter Voltage Drop

Looking at a wiring diagram and testing the control side of the starter circuit , relay ,ignition switch , wiring etc... Do you know what a wiring diagram is and how to read one ? Video's on youtube showing how to understand diagrams . Here is a web site for free wiring diagrams . http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html
Enter vehicle info. Year , make , model and engine size. Under system click on engine ,then under subsystem click on starting . Click the search button then the blue links one at a time . Do you have a manual or automatic transmission ? Could have a bad clutch switch if manual trans or park neutral safety switch with automatic trans .
Check out some videos on basic automotive electrical testing .

Neutral safety switch

DOES IT START WHEN YOU PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, ALSO THE NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH IS LOCATED UNDER THE DRIVERSIDE CLUTCH PEDAL UP IN THE COLUM, IT SHOULD HAVE ONLY TWO WIRES FOR A REPLACEMENT.

Ifyour car is an automatic it will have a neutral safety switch or sometimes called a trans range sensor. Also some cars have a starter relay in the distribution/fuse box under the hood as well as check the diagram on the lid of the box for a starter fuse.

How to Bypass the Neutral safety switch on a 1964 corvette?

neutral switch or park switch
which switch is the problem
check the wiring for the two
go to a wreckers /junk yard with the switch in your hand and get a replacement unit as the switch is generic and nor gm specific so any switch that has adaptable mounting will do the job

Back up lights notworking replaced bulbs and neutral safety switch

Why would you replace a neutral safety switch, Your about to back up,not start the truck?
A wiring diagram helps before you throw parts at things.
On the driver side of the trans, near the rear, is the back up switch.
Dealer item, comes with an o-ring. Easy job. Forget if it take a special socket
