This will probably be caused by either the needle valve and seat being worn or damaged,or the float in the carb fuel bowl stuck or damaged so as to prevent it from rising and shutting off the fuel. Some of the nissan carbs have a small glass window where the fuel level can be checked. It should be about 1/2 way up the glass if ok.Yours will probably be looking full.Hope this helps.Get back with your findings and I may be able to post precise instructions to remove carb and repair fault.

How do you hook up the fuel lines to a mechanical fuel put carburetor? It's on my 1989 Isuzu pickup truck!

The smaller inputs are usually vacuum lines, and the larger one, like in the picture are usually the fuel in (the fuel in is usually a pronounced very large intake (much smaller than the top) similar to the one in the picture, if that's not it.. You could test this by carefully (Warning: open gas containers and/or supplying gasoline to carburetors by unorthodox methods can cause injury or *****!) supplying gas through the port, and see if the engine will fire up!

We would often use a pint jar, with a small siphon supply line into the carb, with the vacuum created by the carb, and getting the line started, gravity flow will feed enough to run the engine for a short while, are at least enough you'll know. Sometimes even without the vacuum lines connected.

I would never recommend this to anyone who didn't know what to do or how to do it. No joke! If I was standing over the carb, I could probably point right to it. The picture doesn't do it justice. I'd find a nice diagram showing where it is, if it's not immediately obvious to you. Or perhaps, someone else may come along, and help.

I hope this helps. Let me know if it did or does.

91 isuzu pick up sat for 2 years and now wont start

I\'d try 2 things. One, some, or many, motors and fuel pumps, even electric ones, need to be "primed".
You might try to figure out how to suck the fuel from the tank up to the motor somehow.
I do not necessarily mean using your mouth.
You could also take a rag and an air hose, and GENTLY blow air into the gas tank to "prime" the system.
Another thing is, is there some part of the engine where gasoline could have congealed or turned to gummy deposits preventing the gas flow?
This is why they suggest mowers and generators be run until they run out of gas before storage, to prevent gummy deposits caused by evaporated gas.
Be blessed.

1989 Toyota pickup 22re it cranks fine and runs fine but when you come to a stop sighn or red light it wants to stay idled up? What causes this?

Could be a vacuum leak. Check all your vacuum hoses for old, cracked, brittle signs. Spray some carb cleaner around them. If idle changes, there it is. I had a high idle problem on my celica. was the intake manifold not sealed on the head.

Gas wont quit flowing through the thottle body when trying to crank my boyfriends 1989nissan with z24 engine making it flood and wont run

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you relace the carburetor gasket or just simply replace the carb itself. If the gasket is worn out it tends to flow non stop. Replacing the gasket can help resolve the problem.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I replaced the battery on my Sierra after a week of sitting and now it turns but wont crank. I checked the fuel line and gas is going to the carb. Any ideas?

try undoing the battery for a min undo the positive side and then put it back on that might take care of it..

Pickup wont start

You didn't give me a lot to go on but I'll try. First make sure the battery has a good charge. If the head lights come on and all the electrical items power up than the battery terminals should be ok. If not or the lights dim badly when you try to key start clean the battery terminals. If it still will not crank, (turn over,) than it is more than likely the starter. Good luck.

If the gas flows all the way to the carb but no gas is spraying, than there is a clog in the line, or the nozzle, or you may have a dirty or debrit in carb itself.
