Question about 1994 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

The windows on my '94 Buick LeSabre Custom are malfunctioning. The one I care about though is my driver side window, however if its cheap/easy I will try the others. But whatever the costs I am going to try to fix the drivers side one for sure. Anyways, the drivers window rolls down but not up (for the most part). Occasionally if I keep on pushing the button back and forth it will start rolling up. As of right now its cracked about 2 inches and it won't go up. In the past, if I slammed the door it would roll up. Recently it seemed like I had to roll it all the way down and mess with it for like 15 minutes for it to go up, but as of right now I'm kind of not even messing with it. My question is, is it the window motor, a fuse situation, or something completely different? If I can get an answer for that, could I get directions or a place (online or auto place) where I can find step-by-step directions to replacing it and parts I may need for the situation?

Try this, between the drivers door and the body the wires run thru a rubber boot, cut a **** in the bot and see if the feed wires have broken,(due to the drivers door being used more than the rest)
You can get a **** connector on the broken ones if thats the case. Bet so ,if the door position makes a difference.
A common problem .

My passanger front window is stuck in the down position. Could this be the window switch?

The same thing happend with my 94 lesabre. I thought it was the switch but i realized that the switch was fine. I went at the junk yard and got my self a power window motor. That is proboably what is wrong with your windows. I recommend that you get yourself new or used window motors and that sould do it!

Best of luck

Passenger side window dont work

Each window has a little motor that powers it. This may need to be replaced. If you can hear the motor running then the window could have fallen off the track

Driver side window not going up or down

It is most likely a wire that became disconnected at the switch, if neither windows work, it is likely a fuse.

Power window

there is no solution.I have had 6 yes 6 windows that didnt work. You have to replace the motor and the control board. They wont sell you just the part you need.It will cost you 750 dollars from the dealer. It is a rip-off.This should have been a recall but they say it is not a safety problem.
