1996 ford tarus car alarm keeps going off


Under hook battery then under plug alarm wire plug back in hook battery back up should work or it could be your alarm has a short in it its cheaper to buy another one like a viper around 150 installed

Our headlights and tail lights are stuck on and van will not start, we were changing the stereo and the alarm beeped like it was unlocking. what could be wrong with it


Are your headlights and tail lights hooked into your alarm system (the flash when arming and disarming). You may have used a wire that was part of the alarm system. Does your alarm system kill the ignition so the van cannot be started? Could have done something to destroy the alarm system.
Might want to start by going backwards. Take the stereo out and putting any wiring back to the way it was before until things go back to normal. If that does not work then take the alarm out and repair any wires that have been cut and spliced for it.

I cannot locate the valet switch to disengage the alarm.


    Preparing for the Installation
  1. Step 1 Gather materials. You will need scissors or a knife, crimps, solder material, solder gun, test light, drill, screw bit, screws, tie wrap, double-sided mounting tape and a voltmeter.
  2. Step 2 Read the installation manual that comes with the alarm. Make sure you understand what the instruction manual says. If you purchased the alarm from an automotive store, you can always ask them some basic questions to help you get started.
  3. Step 3 Call the tech support number for manufacturer of the alarm and tell the tech advisor what kind of car you have. Ask what kind of locking system your car uses and what color wire to connect to in order to interface the lock/unlock feature of your alarm,
  4. Step 4 Ask the advisor how to hook up the relay for the door lock feature, what color wire to connect to for the starter disable feature, and how to hook up the relay.
  5. Step 5 Ask how to set up the voltmeter to test the door lock wires.
  6. Step 6 Ask how to access the factory door triggers.
  7. Step 7 Determine where you intend to place the components by referring to the installation manual.
  8. The Installation
  9. Step 1 Mount the siren to a solid metal surface under the hood. Point the horn of the siren down toward the ground so that moisture cannot collect inside it. Drill a hole through a rubber grommet in the firewall of the car and feed the siren's wire through that hole into the passenger compartment of the car.
  10. Step 2 Connect the alarm's power wire directly to the car's battery. Feed the wire through the rubber grommet on the firewall and into the passenger compartment of the car.
  11. Step 3 Put a fuse on the power wire next to the battery. Check the installation manual for the fuse size.
  12. Step 4 Mount the shock sensor as described in the manual.
  13. Step 5 Drill a hole in the dash where you intend to place the LED status indicator. Feed the LED's wire through that hole and place the double-sided mounting tape to the back of the LED and place it over the hole in the dash.
  14. Step 6 Locate the wires that work the car's power door locks.
  15. Step 7 Connect the door-lock relay to the lock/unlock wires and connect the alarm wire to the relay in the manner described by the tech advisor.
  16. Step 8 Using the advice of the tech advisor, locate the wire that works the courtesy light if the alarm has current sensing.
  17. Step 9 Connect the current sensing line from the alarm to the courtesy light wire.
  18. Step 10 Locate the factory door triggers if the alarm does not have current or voltage sensing.
  19. Step 11 Connect the factory door trigger to the alarm.
  20. Step 12 Find the starter wire on the steering column some inches below the starter switch. Cut the line and connect the starter disable relay. Connect the starter disable wire from the alarm to the relay.
  21. Step 13 Mount the valet switch somewhere under the dash.
  22. Step 14 Connect all the wires to the proper inputs and outputs of the alarm module.
  23. Step 15 Mount the module to a sturdy surface under the dash using the drill, screw bit and screws.
  24. Step 16 Use the tie wraps to secure the wires of the harness and stuff it back under the dash.
  25. Step 17 Arm the alarm and test its performance.

Need to find out what fuse control the lights for my remote starter when i use the remote stater the light suppose to come on that why i need to know what fuse is it or is it a electric problem


the parking light wire for this ford is brown, it is usually hooked up to the wire behind your head light switch, depending what brand remote starter you have, it might not be hooked up

When i hook up a trailer the running lights wont work but the turn and brake lights work,sometimes the brake lights will stay on after i apply the brakes and i have to tap the brake pedal to make them go...


The things you need to check are the wires from the truck and the wireing to the trailer. If you have a 4 pin flat plug the wires are colored white,brown green and yellow.White is ground,brown is the tail light,green is right turn and stop,yellow is left turn and stop.The brake light switch on the brake peddle needs to be adjusted or replaced to cure your other problem.

Head light switch


If you pull the trim off around the cluster the light switch will be easy to access, pull the lower trim off below the cluster trim there are screws there, once they are out the rest is easy.
