Question about 2006 Chevrolet Malibu

1 Answer

I have a 2006 Chevy Malibu that has a sunroof that will not stay completely closed. I notices at highway speeds or if I hit a bump, the sunroof "pops" and you can hear the increase in cabin noise and the seal is no longer airtight. What causes this?

Open roof all the way and make sure there is no build up on the tracks, get on the roof to do this. Then check to see if any damage on the seal itself. Sun and moisture can affect this.

Could be a couple of things, but replace the fuel filter. Then the air filter, maybe a tune up.

My 2006 Chevy Malibu (LS I believe) is constantly saying there is a "door open" when all of my doors, including the hood and trunk, are closed completely. What could the issue be?

The doors, when shut, hit a sensor on the side of the metal frame. When it is closed, it shuts the lights in the inside off and turn the dash light off. One of your doors are not hitting the sensor and pushing it back. Find which one it is and that will solve the issue.

in some cases you r able to relearn the position of the sunroof with the use of a scan tool that all GM dealers have. I advise you to seek a professional to repair this for you.
The scan tool is the key here.
