http://www.docsbay.com/out.php?q=2003 mercury mountaineer fuse box diagram.m Since I don't have that manual I have tried several places and not with much success but the layout of the fuses is printed on the back side of most fuse panels and you should be able to find it there, or look at #19 this was that fuse on a different model.
    More places to look below.
Four places to look: 1)Owner's manual, 2)Chilton's manual, 3)Motor trend's manual, 4)Haynes Manual. You might check your local library for one of these books. I have use all of these. Another last resort, as far as I am concerned, is your Mercury dealer

The term is more than likely called stop lamps and instrument lights

I am still working on this, but for some reason I am hitting dead ends, I will resume looking

This fuse might be located in a fuse panel on the drivers side far left side of dash. Must open Driver's door to access the panel which simply pops off. there should be a diagram on the lid. Apperantly the engine compartmaent location was on a different model.

Every diagram I am looking at tells me it is a 15 amp light blue fuse. But the locations all vary, which I don't understand. The latest diagram shows it in position #4. My problem tonight is i don't have the acces to the shop manual. I realize you need this info now so I am still searching.

Best thing to do now in this situation, is to start pulling the 15 amp blue fuses that aren't clearly marked till you find the blown one, if you have a spare, just keep exchanging the 15 amp fuses till this one is found. I am still looking but it might be a few minutes till I get back on this.

I found the diagram on a 07 and this could be # 22, 23, or 26. for some reason I am not finding the 03 but still looking

Ok, now I went ahead and downloaded your user manual. I agree there is nothing that tells us which fuse it is. #21 looks most promising . Have any luck yet.

Alright, after talking to the people from Ford on this, I am no closer than I was last night. They couldn't tell me either. What I got was about the same as I gave you. F1-15, 42,or43 F2 15 or 21. The F is for fuse box and then the number 1 is in the engine compartment ands 2 is by the drivers side. F1-42 and 43 are low beam and I assume you were driving at night and they were working so we can rule that out. If your still having the issue I suggest either you start pulling them or get a cheap test light, ground it and test the hot side of all the fuses till you find it.

All of the marker and tail lights are powered from a 15amp fuse going thru the headlight switch on a brown wire. Do you have power from that circuit coming out of the headlight switch ?

How can you decide if it is worth fixing if you have no idea what is wrong, it could be major or minor issue. Have it diagnosed before you decide. If it is not running the value of the truck is zip.

Interior lights, windows, and dash lights not working on my 2003 mercury mountianeer is this a fuse??

More than likely it is a fuse. Even if they look good does not mean they are. Also they could be good but getting a poor connection. If they look good, try wiggling them when you put them back in

WHERE IS THE CRUISE CONTOL FUSE LOCATED ON A 2003 MOUNTAINEER

Should be in the fuse box under the dash on the driver's side. The fuses should have a label to tell which is which stuck to the inside cover of the fuse box or molded into the cover.
