I just bought a 1982 Lancia Zagato Targa, I drove it aprox. 50 miles of which 35 of them were on the highhway. I drove 65 MPH for the highway part of the ride..car drove fine no smoke, temp gauge read fine etc. when arriving to my destination, I noticed the engine was leaking coolant from the passenger side of the engine, down low. hoses coming from the radiator were dry as far back as I could see. Only leaks while running, and hadn't leaked prior to my drive back home. previous owner never had a drip in his garage. Car has 87,000 miles....any suggestions??
Thank you,
Jim

check the condition and tension of the drive belt on the alternator. check for loose terminals . Check for moisture in the alternator and loose alternator terminals.
Sounds like a week fuel pump have the pressure checked at a local repair shop. Also if it has a lot of miles on it the catalytic converter could be stopped up also have the local shop check it out it is real easy to check.
Hello, have you tried to unhook the negative side of the battery for about 10 minutes and then go from there . It should reset the computer completely .
It usually takes more than one drive cycle to clear all monitors to "ready".The vehicle may take multiple "from cold" drive cycles and hundreds of miles to clear all.Drive normally with varied driving and include long coasting down stops.Buy a cheap scan tool ($35) and check monitors as you drive.
DO NOT CLEAR CODES or run the battery dead or you will have to start over!
You can find references to the Bosch L Jetronic system on line. You may have to use a Fiat diagram, but they are similar. Your thermal time switch is located in the engine coolant system, between the engine temperature sensor for the FI and the thermostat. The CSI is at the far end of the injector rail.
The first part of your problem sounds like a aux air injector or the CSI, the second part sounds like a vapor lock problem. Are all your heat shields still in place?
no, sometimes they actually just come out. you need to look a little harder though. you now have reason to believe there could be a problem so be on your toes! [email protected]
