Have you had the battery tested or replaced ?
Checked for loose cables ?

The clicking is the solenoid on the starter

That could be bad or the starter it's self

That clicking is your starter selenoid. Your battery cables are not tight at the starter eneough to start the engine. Remove battery cables from battery neg first, then positive, then track that to the starter selenoid, tighten those ends, reconnect the battery cables and start your engine.

How can "I" turn off check engine light?

Disconnect the 12v negative cable (black wire) from battery terminal (-). Leave it disconnect for 5 minutes. While the battery is disconnected, cycle the ignitionswitch to ON position 3 times. If using a scan tool toturn off the check engine light, follow manufacturers directions.

Why won't my car start? What is making the clicking noises coming from the engine compartment?

soleniod on the starter motor is the most likely source of the clicking noise. The starter motor may be faulty and not cranking over the motor.

Hello whiteorch88,

The clicking sound could be from one or both "CV" axles being bad. I'd check them a torn boot with grease slung over the fender well or engine compartment would be a sure sign.

Good luck!

The loud click is probably the solenoid but it's possible it is not transferring power from the incoming (battery) line to the output (starter) line. Can you attach a test light on starter and have someone try "start" ? Light should come on, bad starter. If light does not come on then you are looking for that problem.

1985 BMW 325e will not start

rcaf arrow: The clicking sound id probably your starter solenoid. Tis solenoid is actually a relay that connects your starter to the battery so the starter can turn the engine over to get it started.
Try knocking the starter with a hammer, (not real hard, just kinda medium) and see if that makes a difference  I suspect your starter is going bad.
Any indication of prior problems with starting?????

is it the temperature control knob or the fan speed knob? the temperature control knob is hooked to a cable that operates a valve in the engine compartment. sounds like this is your trouble area...you can open the hood and locate the heater control valve near the firewall...have someone turn the knob to see if the valve lever opens/closes. if it does it is bad. if it does not move there is a problem in the dashboard behind the heater control unit.
