I have the same issue with my 2003 Sante Fe. After I fill up, (whether it's 1/2 a tank or 1/4), my car will stall unless I pump the gas for about 60 sec. My Sante Fe has around 104,000 miles- it also only gets 13 miles to the gallon. I also had an issue with the check engine light. I had 4 different garages check it and all 4 told me they didn't know why it was on (has beem on since 2005). I recently replaced the battery and it went off. Ever since I've had the problem filling up.

I had the purge control valve on my 2003 Santa Fe replaced and it resolved the problem for my car. After ptting any amount of gas in it took a while to get it started and stay started. I haven't had a problem since. I found out that after a while of topping off this could happen.

Stop by any good parts store (Autozone, Advance, etc..) and have them do an OBII scan (fault scan) Could be as simile as a gas cap not tight or holding pressure or an evap. problem.

That's what they told me when I took it in for the check engine light. I went to Hyundai and bought a new one- didn't work.

If you hold down gas pedal a little bit does it start? If so, likely either IAC valve or EGR dirty.

2000 MAZDA MPV TURNS OVER BUT WONT START. RAN FINE YESTERDAY. GOT IT TO START TODAY AFTER HOLDING GAS PEDAL DOWN BUT NOW ITS PUTTING OUT.

Sounds like you possibly got bad gas, or your at the bottom level of your gas tank and got the nasty stuff. Try running a good fuel treatment through the system and fill it up with premium gasoline from Marathon

AFTER I PUT GAS THE CAR WON'T STAR UNTILL I PUSH THE GAS PEDAL AND I HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING SO THAT I WONT SHUT OFF

If you have this problem only when you fill your tank I would check the fuel filter first. The fuel pump will also give you problems after filling the tank due to the extra load.

My Jimmy won't start. I think it might be the

Try squirting a small amount of gasoline into the intake to see if the engine fires up. If it does, then the fuel pump is probably burnt out. Also, check all fuses, and inspect the fuel pump wires.

My santa fe has problems starting back up after

if you pumped more gas after the handle shut off then you caused an issue by over filling. this happens to alot of cars when you try to get every once in the tank.

Anytime I fill up my gas tank, my car won't start. I have used different gas stations. Filled my car up when its half full or a quarter fill. Normally I can get the car to start but slowly pressing on...

Tough one. Maybe water or sediment in the tank. I believe they something that you can put in your tank to adsorb water. At least that's easy enought to try. Good luck!

Car is getting harder to start

If you think the engine is flooded hold the gas pedal about half way down, while you try to start it. Be ready to release the pedal as soon as it starts. That tells the computer that you think the engine is flooded and it will cut back on the fuel delivery, until the engine starts. You may have a bad fuel pressure regulator. I'm sorry I don't know too much about Subaru's.

Mileage loss of 4mpg recently. it started when i used seafoam in my gas tank and through my pcv valve. but, the lvl of gas in the tank will be lower after a day sitting in the parking lot of my shop

That right there tells me if your level is going down you have a leak somewhere, and that would make you think your getting 4mpg less, since you taking more gas to fill up.

Seafoam is garbage, as are allmost any and all other addatives...and engine was designed to run without them ..EVER.

There is no such thing as a fix in a can. If there is a problem then ya have to fix it that simple. Many of those addatives will actually harm your engine..maybe not right away but down the road.
