There is no dipstick and tube. There is a fill plug and drain plug in the transmission oil pan.The lower plug is for draining and the upper plug is for filling and checking.Fluid should run out of the top plug with the engine idling in park on level ground. This a real trick to do without a lift.Good luck!

Cant find reverse in my grand Vitara

no year, no real answers, sorry, lots of GV made.
cant find reverse. what does that mean.?
cant move the shift lever to R?
the shifter goes to R but car wont move in reverse? only? that gear is dead?
where is filter. what filter in what system?
my guess is Transmission filter.?
if transmission is an A/T the filter is in the transmission above the ATF oil pan. yes, we must take off the pan and get a bath in ATF.

the A/T service is covered in both manuals. operators and full FSM.
it say, take it in to service,
or in FSM how to.
all cars.

atf = automatic transmission fluid.

The transmission oil does not drain back. When cold the oil dipstick shows it over full. On short trips the oil comes out of the vent.

sounds like u have over fill the tranny with fluid,Transmission fluid is checked while the vehicle is running and in park let the motor/transmission heat up to normal operating temp.pull dip stick and see where the fluid is, it should be right around the full mark, just as long as it is in the hash marks on the dip stick is fine NEVER CHECK TRANNY FLUID WHEN IT IS COLD OR ENG IS NOT RUNNING on automatic tranny this will result in a in false reading.
If u have over filled it u have to drain some of the fluid out this is a messy job put a large contaner like a tub for draining oil from the eng.trnny's do not have drain plugs sooo u have to very carfully unbolt the oil pan not all the way though just a enough to let some fluid drain out,u might have to use a small flat blade screw driver to pry lose the oil pan Becareful not to damage the gasket, when u go to retighten the bolts, tighten them figer tight then about a quarter turn with a wenrch do not over tighten this will cause a weak,,hope this helps

you found the fuse box right?

There will be a diagram on the back side of the fuse box cover. Use it to identify which fuse belongs to the sound system.

If you don't know where the fuse box is, let me know.

If you still can't figure out the right fuse, give me the options that are in the box and I will let you know which one it is. thanks
