Changing Spark Plugs on 2001 Chevy Blazer

How are you supposed to get the plug wires off on a 2001 Blazer to change the plugs? I was able to change the three plugs on the passanger side, but I'm unable to get the plug wires off on the drivers side, to much !@#$ in the way!

You have to jack up the vehicle and go through the wheel well. There is a flap that will lift out of the way and you can get to the plugs. The center one is a pain though because the steering shaft is in the way.

ur foolin is absolutley correct.. except I just turned the wheel all the way to the left without jacking up the car.... there is a little rubber sleeve that you can move/ roll down on the steering shaft that will give you just enough room to get the plug changed.. after you remove the wheel well flap....dont worry if its old and brittle and breaks you can pattern new ones made from black heavy rubber floor mats.. works like a charm !!

There is a special tool, (it looks like a set of unusual pliers) to remove the wires, the heat makes the rubber plug boot bond to the plug, the tool is available from any good full service parts store like NAPA, Car Quest etc. This tool costs about $5-10, depending on the brand, buy the good one, it really save time, I have 3 different ones, each is a little different shape for different trucks and cars.

Check the firing order. If you took all the plug wires off at the same time, then there is the problem. Back firing out of the intake is a sure sign the firing order is wrong.

No spark to engine 1991 ford pickup

It can be faulty or dirty spark plug itselfd. Also for reference get the fuel level checked. Is the fuel tank is empty or near to empty.
Try cleaning the spark plugs and then see if that is helpin. On some cases the black carbon layer gets collected on the spark plugs and that causes the problem,so cleaning the plugs help. But if its not helping, then spark plug has to be replaced.Spark plugs get power from ignition coil to ignite sparks. If ignitioncoils are faulty then also there will no spark.--------------

My 2001 Chevy Malibu is shaking, engine light on and I smell oil and rubber. It also is sluggish when I drive it.

My initial thought is that you have no spark in one cylinder. This could be from a bad spark plug or other ignition component failure. Have the spark plugs ever been changed? I would rule this out first, as they are inexpensive, and also under more stress than any other part of the ignition system. If the problem persists, then it's time to look at the spark plug wires or ignition coil.

Start the car and open the hood when it's dark. Do you see/hear sparks coming from the plug wires? Another inexpensive place to start looking.

CHANGING SPARK PLUGS IN TRAIL BLAZER. YOU NEED TO REMOVE AIR INTAKE RESONATOR AND IGNITION COILS.YOU NEED LONG 3/8 EXTENSION - SPARK PLUG SOCKET - 3/8 RATCHET WRENCH. NEED SPARK PLUG GAUGE AND A TORQUE WRENCH.YOU CAN GET BY WITH OUT ONE LONG AS YOU DONT OVER TIGHTEN PLUGS AND STRIP OUT ALUMINUM THREADS.

Location of spark plugs on 4.3l v-6 in a 2001 chevy blazer

Chevy usually puts the spark plugs down below the exhaust manifold.
You usually have to do them by feel, or use a mirror.

How do you get the middle spark plug out on the drivers side 2000 chev blazer V6 4/4

You need to use the spark plug socket with a built in swivel and a extension. Once you crack the spark plug loose, remove the socket and remove the plugs by hand. The plugs will not come out with the socket still being used, there is not enough room to between the engine and shock tower mount. Take your time, the fingers get's cramps. It sounds like this is your first time changing the plugs, they all come out easy from the wheel well. You can do it with out removing the wheel, just move the inner splash guard up out of the way to get to all the plugs. The only other hard thing is the removing the plug wire boot from the plugs, I find it easy if you have a plug wire boot pliers. The pulling on the wire just ends up in replacing the spark plug wire set. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, be glad to help, this should take about 30 min to do all of them. Plug #3 being 10 min alone LOL.
