Join the club...can you shift your car into drive while its on? or do you have to start it in neutral like me? while thats more of a pain in the rear than a real issue...its not having brakes that is an issue! this is a problem that has been fixed time and time again and no dealership wants to do it. my brother (thank god) can fix it for me but its such a pain...hopefully someone can tell us both wtf is going on with ours cars...i swear if its not one thing with this stupid car, its another...ahhhh

I assume the fuse has power if the hazards work. The third brake light skips the turn signal switch, the regular brake light circuit goes thru the turn signal switch. Do you have power going into the turn signal switch on the red lite green wire from the brake switch ?
Fuse panel is under the dash also as I have found with my own graceful daughter, there is a brake light switch that connects to the brake pedal itself. It is hard to get to and even harder to see but a lot of times these switches get bumped and they can not make connection when the brake pedal is depressed. Hope this helps
check all your fuses and then check under the dash on the up on the BRAKE PEDAL, there is where the switch is, push up/down while someone checks the rear lights ...if comes on you need a switch.....remove the HAIR PIN clip retainer, plastic washer,sw assembly, and plastic shouldered sleeve,.... replace sw and reverse steps....hope this helped...GL
this car has a brake light switch on the pedal check for power in and out. if in and not out change switch. also I believe their is a relay under the hood . then check to see if the multifunction and hazard switch control brake lights i cant remember if they do like gm's but i am also almost sure they do the multifunction is your turn signal wiper arm that goes into steering wheel . after you check the brake switch and relay have some one jiggle the hazard and multi while pressing the brakes see if they come on. you can call ford and ask them about the multi and hazard .
