SOURCE: car stalls an shuts off an then needs to be jumped

i had a similar problem with my 98 eclipse...there is 3 relays on the firewall on the drver side,check those,i changed mine and hav'nt had a problem since...good luck.

SYMPTOM
P0320 - NO CRANK REFERENCE SIGNAL AT PCM

WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition ON.

SET CONDITION
No signal from the Crankshaft Position Sensor is present during engine cranking, and at least 3 Camshaft Position Sensor signals have occurred.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

SYMPTOM
P0700 - EATX CONTROLLER DTC PRESENT

WHEN MONITORED
Ignition key ON, Continuously.

SET CONDITION
Any DTC sets in the Transmission Control Module.

Sounds like you have a transmission problem. Make sure the fluid is full. If you have neglected your transmission services, you will most likely need some trans work, which you will not be able to do on the side of the road.

P0430 is pretty much cut and dry...you need to replace your catalytic converter. It is the catalytic converter on the right (passenger) side of the engine.

P0700 - This is only an "Information" code. It is only a generic code that is set by the Engine Control Module when the Transmission Control Module sets a code. Basically, it is a code telling you there is a code. Fixing the other two transmission codes will make this code go away.

Diagnosing codes P0733 and P0734 requires a scanner that can read live transmission module data. It also requires a Transmission Simulator. (Miller tool #8333 and the Electronic Transmission Adapter Kit. or equivalent)

You will have to test your input shaft speed sensor and your output shaft speed sensor to verify the integrity of their respective signals. Once the signal integrity is verified, then the transmission must be operated under specific conditions to verify the presence of a gear ratio error.

Both of these codes are usually caused by internal transmission problems. Either leaking internal seals causing clutches to not hold properly or clutches that are just plain worn out. This will require a transmission overhaul to repair. Extreme temperatures and/or sticking shift solenoids can also cause these codes, which is why proper diagnosis should be performed.

If the transmission has been noticeably slipping, then the overhaul solution will most likely be the only option.

Any codes logged?? Had a corsa do this it was the lambda sensor (pre-cat) replaced with a non genuine part & fault returned 3wks later. Used a gm genuine part & fixed the prob. If you have auto data you can test sensor using ohms on a multi meter

po700 is Trans Control Sys Malfunction and po730 is Gear Ratio Incorrect.

Engine light on ,shows po700 trans seems to work fine


P0700 Transmission Control System (MIL Request)
It just means that the MIL is being requested, but there don't seem to be any other codes associated with it, so I wouldn't worry about it unless a driveability or fuel economy or engine/transmission performance problem arises.
