Question about 2004 Dodge Durango

Open Question

My 2004 Dodge Durango radio turns on but it plays no sound. It has the Infinity stock sound system and things I read online says that it is a common for the factory amp to have a problem and cause no sound output and to check the amp fuse. Where and what number amp would I check if I need to check that at all?

SOURCE: 2004 Dodge Durango Radio will not come on

Sounds like the fuse went out to me. The fuse box is located next to the emergency brake and the radio fuse will be labeled. I believe it is a 25-fuse which should be clear in color.

SOURCE: cd player quit working after i changed the battery radio still works fine.

kzingraff, I have a similar situation to Craig Waldie. I have a 2005 Durango and the CD player has not worked since I replaced the battery. Just like his 2004, the radio works perfectly, just not able to use the CD player. How can this issue be fixed?

SOURCE: HOW TO INSTALL AMP INTO A FACTORY RADIO IN DODGE DURANGO 2002

You can buy adaptor plugs that allow a simple hook up at most car stereo places.  However, when you increase the power going to the speakers you also have to replace the speakers to handle the higher power or you'll toast them.

Resetting my Dodge Durango 2004 radio with CD player

Hello Digna H...

What a terrible thing NOT to hear... your darling radio.
(music (heals the soul)...

I hope I'm wrong... but the problem I am understanding is you changed out the vehicle battery and are now missing the SOUND from a radio/CD player...

You are hoping for a RESET ?

That kind of information (security code) is generally available from your local dealer (typically for a small charge... sometimes FREE)... but the car has to be there for ANTI-THEFT reasons.

2004 dodge Durango radio fuse diagram

There were seven Dodge Durango models and three sound systems available in 2004 so I took a guess and suggest that you check 25A FUSE 12 in the junction block.

How do i hook up an after market stereo in a 1998 dodge durango slt with an infinity sound system w/amp

get an adaptor kit for the stereo wiring. it will plug directly into the factory harness and vertually eliminate cross-wiring.

You most likely need a new radio. They go bad all the time in the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep. Don't know how many of them I have replaced.

NO sound from radio being on

cable from radio going to speakers loose or disconnected, also the radio inside has a fuse that might be blown, not allowing the sound to come out

I had the same problem. Repair was more than replacing radio. Go to Crutchfield for good prices. Remember if you have the Infinity sound system you will need another $65 for a box to activate your cars amps and speakers.
