Question about Toyota Celica

Got *** test done on my car it triped 31 witch is vacum and 51 "tps" i advanced it so it would run. In AM first start of day it would just fier up and warm up know it spudders and will die. but when it warms up " my temp is at half way. but when it gets thier it idles fine. when i put it in R OR DRIVE it has no power wont take gas. now i can turn it on and off alot tring to get it to run. it will act like it will run, then shifting into 2ed it spudders its like on giving little gas it will try to run. turn it off, start it again then bam it runs not alot of power but it will go ok. speed limet good : ) ok now after i drive it and say stop at the store turn it off " its probley hot" get back in start it. it wont start until it cools off some then i turnin off and on alot to get it to run ok agian. i replaced battery, plugs, fule filter and air,alternator,TPS. I know i hav e a donut gasket blown but i am con fused help me please i drive it everyday on appointment i could get is for april 13 to do full OBD1 test for vacum, fule , and cats cooling, but i am thanking its going to get worse befor then

You can not have vacuum leaks in exhaust,
before the converter.
It will effect the O2 Sensor,thus injector pulse

2009 ranger 700 code 51. how do i fix it?

A code 51 is an injector code. It could be a broken wire at the injector (typically very hard to diagnose because they break right at the injector body)......but more than likely it is indicating a broken wire to the TPS. Check the TPS wires very closely for signs of cuts or bare spots. I'd rule out the TPS before moving onto the injector.

It could also indicate a weak fuel pump (unfortunately a very common problem). Check the fuel pressure. It should manitain 39 psi throughout the RPM tange.....including under a load and when hot, so be sure to test it with the machine thoroughly warmed up.

1994 olds 98 3800 engine won't ideal after warmed up.Hold petal to floor start motor,engine runs up and down by it's self with out moving acc. pedal. could this be a TPS?

May be the Idle air Control Valve (IAC) . Suggest you do the search for both the TPS and IAC. There's a wealth of info on how to test, clean replace the sensors on the 3.8 engine.

Hi Ken..timing belt is perfect I did that like 4months ago..this problem only started after I start working on the valve cover gaskets and everything else that went along with it...when I changed the

tps is preset at factory, if a trouble code was retrieved from computer, then replace the TPS, PERIOD............... ANY TYPE OF adjustmt., is done by loosening bolts that hold it in and twisting or turning it one way or another, then retighten bolts, which ever improves the condition, do this with engine running, you'll know which way improves best. I would just replace the tps, and be done.

sounds like you have a code in the computer that needs to be checked out which will send you in the direction to diagnoise the could have a couple could be a tps sensor,vacume leak,injector problem,etc.

I have a 94 honda civic 4 door DX. my emissions lite is on. witch two terminals do i connect to run a code test

There's no wires to connect, you need to have an OBII scan done. Any good parts store can do the scan for FREE (Autozone, Advance, etc)

Will not start or ideal without given throttle, runs fine at 1500-2000 given it throttle. have changed fix vacum leak,new fuel pump,TPS,crankshaflt,camshaft position sensor,IAC value and pcm. still getting...

If you are still getting the TPS code after replacing it I would start tracing back wires that are related to that sensor. Check for broken or shorted wires or bad fusible links that have corroded. I tend to find a lot of these kinda problems in the harness under the battery or in the wheel well. Can be very hard to find. Good luck

My car runs for three seconds then dies

Its' a module problem. The computer also should be diagnosing a trouble code. The main computer turns over control to the module within 5 seconds of a startup. Check your connectors for corrosion.

Autozone or Oreillys may be able to test the module to verify this for you. Another system that works like yours is the Cold Start circuit. The TPS takes over after the Cold Start circuit stops. The TPS is the throttle control or throttle position sensor. The TPS regulates both fuel and spark. Good Luck on your repair.

Rough idle

make sure the trottle if free of carbon built if is not clean it with toot brush and carburetor cleaner
