Question about 1989 Dodge Ram D-Series Pickups

1 Answer

Have a 89 dodge ramcharger with a 318 and TBI. It starts and idles fine and will run wide open fine but when you try and run at a constant speed say 40mph it will start loosing power. during this loss of power if you give it wide open throttle it will run fine but will not maintain a half throttle. I have checked the ignition components per the repair manual and they test fine. What could be causing this?

How to adjust the idle speed on 1992 Dodge Ramcharger?

Its not really adjustable.
The computer controls idle speed via the idle air control valve.
You probably have a vac leak.

What is the timeing on a 1987 dodge ramcharger with a 318 motor

set timing on1987 dodge ramcharger 8 degrees BTDC (Before Top Dead Center) ..Each spark plug must fire 8 degrees before each piston reaches TDC (Top Dead Center).. This only holds true when the engine is at idle speed.. I hope this helps you set your timing.....
