The instrument cluster buttons contol this feature. If you push the "Step" button until you see the "Perform Service" illuminated. the Push and hold the reset button. It should change to 6000 miles. Every 6000 miles you will need to do this.

When I turn the jeep on there is a sign saying perform service???

That's right! Your Jeep has a onboard computer that controlls all the power units, the engine and the gear box. As shown in your driver manual you have to perform the engine service ever 6- 8 - 10 or 12K miles. And your Jeep reminds you, that the service is neccessary. To perform the service right on time will save you money on fuel and spare parts, let the engine run smuth and below the limits of green house gas emissions.
Change the oil filter, the engine oil, check the spark plugs, coolant water, servo oil, serpetine belt and you battery cable connections and the battery too. If you can't perform the service by your own, ask for the next dealership or service point. You'll find it at jeep.com too

TIME FOR 60,000 MILE SERVICE. Can any service shop do this and does my 2005 odossey have to have any special parts or fluids ?

Any reputable shop can perform this mileage service,It will not need any thing special at this service as long as you have been performing the regular previous mileage services. When it comes to the 90,000 k service their are a few extra things I would have done example ( brake fluid flush ) ( trans fluid flush ) these I would have performed at the Honda dealer

Perform service light on what does it mean?

If it is only "perform service", this is likely your mileage counter telling you to get an oil change. If it was a "check engine light" it would be amber in color and would require use of a scanner to acquire codes and check for faults. Here's how to reset:
On a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo if the "Perform Service" light is in the middle of the dash Simply press the "SET" button until the display shows the "0 miles to service", Then hold the other button below it down until it resets to "3000".

What does perform service message mean?

This is a oil change reminder. Nothing fancy about, when you get your oil change go into the menu and click reset counter and it will go off. If there was something wrong with your car the check engine light would come on.

Perform service jeep grand cherokee 2005 this message is appearing in the message center

Actually the newer cherokees are a little more complicated, it's not a reminder for an oil change. It is for an emssions service that should be performed according to the dealer. Here is the rest procedure

Turn ignition to on position, but do not start.
Depress brake pedal fully twice.
depress excellerator very slowly twice
Turn ignition off & that will reset the perform service indicator.
I am mechanic & we are getting frustrated because the dealers do not want to release this info to anyone, they want your money! Can you believe if you did not get them to perform the service they charge you a 1 hour shop rate??

EVIC - PERFORM SERVICE MESSAGE

To reset the perform service message , is as follows , turn ignition switch to the ON position , depress and release MENU push button until SERVICE INTV . = is displayed , press and release STEP button to step through available options. the last selected distance option displayed becomes the service interval at which the PERFORM SERVICE message will be displayed . if a new distance interval is selected , RESET SERVICE DISTANCE ? with a yes or no option. when yes is selected the accumulated distance since the last previous PERFORM SERVICE message will be set to zero because the service interval has been changed . when NO is selected , the distance until the next PERFORM SERVICE message is reduced by the accumulated distance since the last previous message . EVIC exits programming mode and returns to its normal operation mode when the C/T button is depressed or when the end of the programmable feature menu list is reached , whichever comes first .

Thanks for asking .
